LESSON 1: a TELEPHONE NUMBERS (A1, A2, A3)

I OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Identify numbers and say the telephone numbers of others

- Develop skills of reading and listening telephone numbers

- Practice asking for and giving telephone numbers

II PREPARATIONS:

Textbook, cassette tape, pictures

III PROCEDURES:

1 WARM – UP: (5’)

- Have students ask and answer about their

personal information through the following

form:

Name:

Address:

Means of transport:

Distance (house school)

2 PRESENTATION: (5’)

- Introduce the lesson by talking about the

importance and the popularity of telephones in our

social communication nowadays

- Ask students to look at the section 1/p.19, ask

questions Where is this page from?

What do you see on this page?

- Explain the word: telephone directory

- Guide students how to read the telephone numbers

3 PRACTICE: (20’)

- Have students read some of the telephone

numbers

- Ask students to practice reading the telephone

numbers of the six persons in the page 20 in pairs

- Call students to read to check

- Guide students to listen to the tape and to write

down the telephone numbers

- Play the tape for students

- Call some students to write the answers

- Ask and answer the questions
