- By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to greet someone formally

II Contents

1 Vocabulary: morning, afternoon, evening.

2 Model sentences: Good morning, Miss Hien.

III Teaching aids: pictures, tape, cassette

A Warm up and Review (5’)

- T and Ss introduce themselves

Teacher’s activities

1 Look, listen and repeat(10’)

- T ask Ss to open their book on page 6 and look

at the picture of the class

- T ask Ss to tell about the content of the picture

by answering some questions

+ How many people are there? Who is this?

+ What are they doing?

- T open the cassette

- T open the cassette again, pausing after each line

for Ss to repeat Repeat the step when necessary

Divide the class into two groups Ask one group

to repeat Miss Hien’s part and the other the Ss’s

necessary

- Ask Ss to role play the greetings and responses

- Select some pairs of Ss to demonstrate the task

in front of the class

partners before reporting them to the class

- Read out the answers to the class Provide

explanation(s) when necessary
