A System Breakthrough That Allows
Maximum Network Throughput
TrueNet Structured Cabling Systems are a truly revolutionary
new concept in network technology
A TrueNet System provides far more than proposed Category 6,
5e or 5 compliance — it actually helps users get the most out of
their active equipment, the bandwidth they paid for
The System is an integrated, precisely tuned system of horizontal
cable, patch cords, jacks, terminal blocks and patch panels —
everything from NIC to server The result is the industry’s only
impedance-matched system that provides a clear path for
uninterrupted data throughput
And the KRONE TrueNet System guarantees zero bit error data
transmission — a promise fully backed by a single-source,
end-user warranty No one else in the industry matches this level of
performance…or assurance…of network efficiency
New Tests Reveal Key Determinants
of Network Performance
Today, there’s a new generation of testing equipment that looks
at the entire network while it’s under operation These “active”
tests show that the degree to which all network components are
impedance matched has a great effect on the throughput of the
network In addition, they reveal that many, if not most, of
today’s high-speed networks are operating well below peak
performance
KRONE research with active network test equipment confirms
that mixing and matching components that individually meet
TIA/EIA standards does not ensure efficient network
perfor-mance Optimal network throughput can only be achieved with
components that are 100±3 ohms impedance matched
The charts shown (above, right) demonstrate the impedance
match/mismatch phenomenon The mismatched channel
illustration depicts what can happen when a 107 ohm patch
cord is connected to a 97 ohm horizontal cable Typically, energy
is reflected at the connection point, causing signal degradation,
data errors and data retransmissions These occurrences can have
a serious impact on network performance
The TrueNet cabling system, depicted by the matched channel
illustration, shows how matched 100±3 ohm components allow
the signal to travel without reflection and loss
Data retransmissions dramatically reduce the throughput of
the network As shown in the table (right), even a 1% rate of
retransmission can slow a 100Mb/s Ethernet network to just
20Mb/s — turning a $1 million network equipment investment
into a $200,000 investment

Factors Affecting Network Throughput
Electrical characteristics such as impedance, ACR, and delay skew
are important However, the true test of any structured wiring
plan is how well the original data is retained as it travels within
the physical layer
Common inconsistencies in structured cabling, such as
imped-ance mismatches, cause data errors This impedimped-ance mismatch
causes instability across the frequency spectrum
Electrical instability can hurt data integrity This potentially
causes data retransmission to occur, which, in turn, causes a
reduction in Ethernet throughput
How the TrueNet System Protects Network Throughput
KRONE has solved network retransmission problems by
designing a structured cabling system to impedance-matching
standards that are more rigorous than the current standards,
and which include IEEE system guidelines not found in the
traditional TIA/EIA structured cabling standards These TrueNet
C6T™ and C5eT™ solutions incorporate tuned components,
including patch cables, jacks, termination blocks, horizontal
cables and termination hardware
TrueNet’s total system tuning protects data integrity and
enhances network throughput
Tested On-Site and Backed by a Zero Bit Error* Warranty
The TrueNet System is backed by an industry-leading warranty
program that addresses what is really important to the network
user: data throughput
KRONE assures that each installed TrueNet Structured Cabling
System achieves maximum throughput performance by

offers this kind of peace-of-mind to the end-user
The“20/5” TrueNet Warranty, offered directly to the end-user,
covers all aspects of the structured cabling system for horizontal
and backbone networks that support data and voice, both
copper and fiber, including patch cords, horizontal cabling,
jacks, and patch panels It’s the industry’s first throughput

TrueMatch™ — A Revolutionary Innovation in Technology
TrueNet™ Cable is based on TrueMatch technology,
a series of over 10 patented product design andmanufacturing innovations that fine-tune the cable
to various system components (such as connectors)
to achieve a 100±3 ohms differential impedancethroughout the cabling system The resulting systemallows the signal to travel the physical layer cleanly, with fewer performance-robbing data
retransmissions
With the revolutionary TrueMatchprocess, each pair is manufacturedseparately — then individually sizedand tuned with an identical, tighttwist ratio and combined within thejacket TrueMatch cables are as close
to perfect as is possible
TrueMatch Assures that:
n The copper conductors of each TrueNet cable have
a near-perfect (99% round) circumference, plus anear-perfect distance variation (99–100%) withinthe insulation
n The conductors and insulation diameters of eachpair are individually fine-tuned to achieve the100±3 ohms impedance requirements
Trang 4A Simple, Effective Way to Boost
Performance and Reliability.
As an integral part of the TrueNet™ Structured Cabling System,
or when used individually, TruePatch Patch Cords provide a vital
system upgrade and solve a problem found in many networks: a
random selection of unmatched, low-performance/low-reliability
patch cords
New research shows that even one marginal patch cord can
substantially slow down an entire network These same tests also
show that overall network performance can be improved simply
by replacing existing patch cords with high-performance,
imped-ance-matched TruePatch Patch Cords (right) These tests show
that impedance mismatches which occur at the transition
be-tween patch cords and jacks have a dramatic impact on network
performance The figure on the top, right shows a randomly
chosen horizontal cable with a randomly chosen patch cord The
frequency curve shows wild oscillations But by just placing a
TruePatch Patch Cord with the same horizontal, the impedance
curve is much smoother (bottom, right).
TruePatch Patch Cords utilize TrueMatch™ technology but they
also feature some unique design innovations:
n The copper conductors in TruePatch
Patch Cords are stranded for superior
flexibility, then compacted into a
near-round shape to enhance the
impedance values A dual layer
insulation prevents the separation of
the copper strands — even with
repeated flexing Separate patents are
pending on these unique innovations
n A high pressure, injection-molded
boot locks each pair in place inside the
plug, resulting in an extra-strong
termination
n An extra-long strain relief prevents
kinking at the plug head, maintaining
the required 1"bending radius
To achieve maximum performance, however, all TruePatch Patch
Cords are offered in lengths which are proven to minimize signal
reflection (4, 7, 10 and 15 feet)
The copper strands are compacted, presenting a round conductor for increased impedance performance A dual insulation layer prevents strand separation.

C6T — For the Ultimate Gigabit Ethernet Network
TrueNet C6T delivers exceptional system performance by
including features that protect signal integrity and strength The
IEEE specifications for signal amplitude will be especially
important for Gigabit Ethernet (which uses multilevel encoding)
In addition, these features may also enable lower voltage NIC
cards to transmit a clean signal (see below comparison of signal
amplitude for a mismatched vs TrueNet System)
TrueNet was designed in concert with the first generation of
Gigabit Ethernet cards which will use complicated digital signal
processing (DSP) chips for signal decoding TrueNet C6T takes
Gigabit Ethernet one step further: signal transmission over
TrueNet C6T is so good that the need for DSPs is reduced,
allowing active equipment manufacturers to build
next-generation, low-cost Gigabit Ethernet equipment without
extra chips
TrueNet C6T takes TrueMatch™ technology even further It
provides the tightest levels of impedance-matching available, and
adds KRONE’s patent-pending star separator This helically-twisted
separator improves pair-to-pair isolation and reduces pair-to-pair,
powersum and alien (cable-to-cable) crosstalk for best performance
in noisy networks like Gigabit Ethernet In addition, heavier
23-gauge copper is used for better signal strength
The TrueNet C6T Solution delivers:
n A complete end-to-end channel
n Extra bandwidth, better attenuation
n Zero bit errors
n ISO/IEC 11801, Class E compliance
n Proposed Category 6 compliance
