III Teaching procedure:

1/ Warm up (8’)

- T asks some questions to pay Ss’ attention

Getting started

* Matching: Asks Ss to look at the pictures and match each object (pictures

P.18) with its name

- T has Ss work in pairs first, then calls some Ss to speak out before the class

- T corrects

KEYS: a an answering machine. b a mobile phone

* Chatting/Definition (optional): T gives definitions of these objects on the

screen and Ss to match the object with its definition

- T asks Ss to put the sentences into the correct order to make a complete

- Ss read the dialogue individually, then compare in pairs and guess the content

I Objectives: By the end of the the lesson, Ss will be able to complete a telephone message by

listening and get further practice in talking about intentions with GOING TO and special adverbs of place

1 Knowledge:

- Further practice in making arrangements

- Special adverbs of place

2 Skills: Listening, practice doing some exercises.

3 Attitude: Working hard, actively.

II Teaching aids: - Textbook, computer, projector , worksheet, (extra board).

- Working arrangement: T – Ss, individual, pair work, group work

III Teaching procedure:

I Warm up (7’)

* Ask some questions to pay Ss’ attention

* Telephone transmitting: Leave the message

- T divides the class into 2 teams Choose 6 volunteers in each team They stand

in 2 lines T tells the first Ss in 2 lines the message: “She is going to have a

party next Sunday She wants you to come.”

They whisper the message to the next in their line The second whispers to the

third until the last one

The last Student has to shout (write) the message If she/ he is the first to shout

(write) the message and it is the similar message that T tells them, their team win

the game

II Pre- listening ( 12’)

1 Pre-teach: Elicit and introduces some new words

- a message : lời/ tin nhắn (example- Look at my mobile phone I received some

words from my friend yesterday

What do we call it? )

- the principal : hiệu trởng (Mr Ngoc Anh )

- (to) leave the message: để lại lời nhắn

2 Set the scene:

- Ask Ss to look at the form of the telephone message P.21: “A woman phoned

the principal of Kingston junior high school, but he was out”

3 Pre- questions: Ask Ss to work in pairs to guess the message by answering

questions

1 Who made the call? (Mary Nguyen)

2 Who did she want to talk to? (The principal- Mr Kelvin)

3 Why did she have to leave the message? (Mr Kelvin was out at that time.)
