One of the examples of ship's automation is the three stages of main engine control, which denote hand control, central control and bridge control respectively The hand control means controlling a main engine by the engine side, and may also be referred to as emergency control if both the central control and the bridge control should

1 Hand Control

By the hand control, the function of the remote control maneuvering console is the same as that of an ordinary electrictelegraph Engineers in the engine space will operate the hand wheel of a diesel engine according to the orders from the wheelhouse and perform the answer to the electric telegraph signals at the same time

2 Central Control

In order to conduct the central control, the measuring meters for various kinds of such parameters of M E and aux machinery as pressure, temperature, voltage, current, frequency, rpm and so forth are to be arranged and fitted in the control room, which is situated at the engine space and with the sound insulation and air conditioning equipment

In addition, different signals, alarms and automatic control devices are centralized in the control room as well As a result of this, a mere operator is required to monitor and control remotely all the engines and equipment in the engine space

It is apparent to all how much labour and sweat the central control can save those poor engineers

3 Remote Control

When the remote control is practised, the maneuver of a diesel engine is just the same as that of the hand control; but for the remote control it is not necessary to have any engineer operate the hand wheel of a diesel engine Instead, the hand wheel is to be turned by a servo motor after speed reduction by means of gears, and the answer to the electrical telegraph signals to be performed at the same time

This remote control system mainly consists of a synchro signal transmitter, a phase-sensitive rectifier, a preamplifier, a push-pull magnetic amplifier and a servo motor

vệ an toàn các chuyến hành trình Rõ ràng là công nghệ tự động hoá mới sẽ kèm theo việc phát triển cong nghiệp đóng tàu về mọi mặt.Một trong những thí dụ tử động hoá con tàu là ba gia đoạn điều khiển máy chính ,đó lần lượt là điều khiển thủ công,điều khiển tập trung và điều khiển từ buồng lái.Điều khiển thủ công có nghĩa là điều khiển máy chính ngay bên cạnh máy,và việc này có thể thực hiện như là điều khiển ứng cấp khi cả hai loại điều khiển tập trung và điều khiển từ buồng lái bị hư hỏng.Điều khiển tập trung được thực hiện từ buồng điều khiển tập trung ,còn điểu khiển từ buồng lái có thể giải thích là điều khiển từ xa và thực hiện từ buồng lái.Ba bước điều khiển máy chính có thể chuyển đổi từ loại này sang loại khác khi cần thiết.Cùng với sự phát triển mau chóng của ba giai đoạn điều khiển buồng máy,hệ thống UMS/EO đã được thực hiện với UMS cho buồng máy không có người tới còn EO là buồng máy hoàn toàn không có người.Dưới đây chúng

1.Điều khiển thủ công

Trong điều khiển thủ công,chức năng của đài điều khiển quay trở từ xa cũng tương tự như tay chuông điện báo thông thường.Thợ máy trong buồng máy thao tác tay quay của động cơ diesel theo lệnh từ buồng lái và đồng thời trả lời các tín hiệu của tay chuông

2.Điều khiển tập trung

Để tiến hành điều khiển tập trung,các đồng hồ đo các thông số của máy chính và máy phụ các loại như áp suất,nhiệt độ,điện áp,cường độ dòng,tần số,vóng quay vân vân được bố trí và trang bị trong buồng điều khiển.là một buồng đặt trong buồng máy được cách âm và trang bị máy điều hoà Ngoài ra,các loại tín hiệu,báo động và các thiết bị tự động điều khiển cũng được tập trung vào buồng điều khiển.Kết quả là một người điều hành không cần quá xuất sắc có thể nhận biết và điều khiển từ xa tất cả các máy móc và thiết bị trong buồng máy.Chẳng cần phải nói ,điều khiển tập trung có ưu việt hơn hẳn công việc thủ công mệt mỏi ,việc này đã sáng tỏ như ban ngày.Chỉ cần tưởng tượng thông thường có hơn một trăm điểm cần đo nhiệt độ trong hệ máy mà ta phải đo hết từ điểm này sang điểm khác chỉ bằng một cái nhiệt kế thủy ngân thông thường!Rõ ràng là điều khiển tập trung đã tiết kiệm bao sức lực và mồ hôi của những kỹ thuật viên khốn khổ đó

3.Điều khiển từ xa

Khi thực hiện việc đìâu khiển từ xa thì việc điều hành động cơ diesel cũng tương

tự như điều khiển thủ công nhưng với điều khiển từ xa thì không cần thiết phải có bất kỳ

kỹ thuật viên nào thao tác vô lăng của động cơ diesel.Thay vào đó , vô lăng được quay bởi một động cơ servo sau khi được giảm tốc bằng một số bánh răng và đồng thời cũng thực hiện việc trả lời các tín hiệu tay chuông buồng lái.Hệ thống điều khiển từ xa chủ yếu gồm bộ phát tín hiệu synchro,một bộ lọc nhậy pha,một máy tiền khuyếch đại,một máy khuyếch từ kiểu kéo đẩy và một động cơ servo
