A Objectives : By the end of the lesson, students will be able to talk about family members

using family vocabulary, possessive pronoun: my, your, her, his and “ Who this / that ? ”

B Teaching aids :text books, posters, pictures.

C Methods : Kim’s game, Presentation text, Grid, Dialogue Build, Word cue Drill, Describe

and Draw

I ORGANIZATION (1 minute)

Date of teaching : 6A : Absent students: 6B :

II WARM UP (5 minutes)

Kim’s game

- Asks students to look at the picture A2 on page 31 for 20

seconds Then lets them keep their books closed

- Divides the class into four groups

- Asks sts from 4 groups write the things on the board, the

group which writes more correct words in one minute wins

the games

-III NEW LESSON (35minutes)

Step 1 : Presentation :

1 Vocabulary :

- T uses a picture of a family to elicit the words.

Sts : - listen

- listen and repeat (chorally then individually)

- copy

Check voc : Slap the board

2 Presentation text : A3 P32

- T sets the scene: This is Hoa and this is Ba They are

talking Ba is saying about his family Let’s listen to them.

- Sts listen and repeat

- Sts practice saying the dialogue in open pairs then in close

pairs

3 Grid : Ba’s family

- T asks Ss to read the text and fill in the grid with

information about the family individually, then share in

pairs

- T corrects

Key:

4 Dialogue Build:

- T uses the picture on page 32 to elicit the dialogue

- T asks sts to practice saying the dialogue ( T-WC ;

half-half ; open pairs ; close pairs)

Step 2 : Practice :

Word cue Drill

- Run through all word cues

- T models => sts repeat

Example: A: Who’s that?

B: It’s his mother.

A: What’s her name?

B: Her name is Nga

- T – WC

- open pairs => close pairs

Step 3 : Production :

Describe and Draw

T asks sts to draw their family In pairs, they practice

asking and answering about their family members

Eg:

S1: Who is this?

S2: It is my

S1: What is his/her name?

S2: His/her name is …

S1: How old is she/he?

S2: He/she is …

-IV SUMMARY (2 minutes)

- Possessive pronouns: my, your, her , his

- “Who is this/that?” question

V HOMEWORK (2 minutes)

- Do Exercise 4/.20-21 ( exercise book), Ex 5, 6/ p.18-

19 ( exercise notebook)

- Prepare: B1-2
