OUTLINE:

1) Passive Forms:

* Câu chủ động là: câu mà chủ từ của câu là

Eg: My mother waters the flowers every

morning.

* Câu bị động là: câu mà chủ từ của câu là

do người khác

Eg: The flowers are watered by my mother

every morning.

a, Definition:

1) Passive Forms:

Example: My mother waters the flowers every morning

-> The flowers are watered by my mother every morning

Nếu chủ ngữ trong câu chủ động là đại từ nhân xưng: You,

We, They, she, he, it Đại từ bất định: someone, everyone, Hay people thì chúng ta có thể bỏ by O trong câu bị động

b, Form:

C,Change Passive into active

+Lấy tân ngữ của câu chủ động làm chủ ngữ cho câu bị động

+Viết động từ be ở thì của động từ câu chủ động

+viết động từ ở dạng quá khứ phân từ 2

+Viết mệnh đề sau động từ nếu có

+Lấy chủ ngữ của câu chủ động viết sau chữ by

Exercise 1: Work with a partner:

Read a guide on how to recyle glass Look at the instructions, rewrite them in

the passive form and put the pictures in the correct order.

a) Break the glass into small pieces.

=> The glass is broken into small pieces.

b) The wash the glass with

a detergent liquid.

c) Dry the glass pieces

completely.

d) Mix them with certain

specific chemicals

e) Melt the mixture until

it become a liquid.

f) Use a long pipe , dip it into

the liquid, then blow the

liquid into intended shapes.

=>Then the glass is washed with a detergent liquid.

=> The glass pieces are completely

dried

=> They are mixed with certain specific chemicals.

=> The mixture is melted until it becomes a liquid.

=> A long pipe is used to dip into the liquid and then the liquid is blown into intended shapes.
