II Vietnam Statistical system

To Communicate National Statistical Indicator System;

Implementation of National Statistical Census and Survey Program;

Compilation legal documents concerning statistics in accordance with the law;

To conduct research, apply the statistical science and modern statistical technics;

To assess the technical speciality of Basic Statistical Reporting System, General Statistical Reporting System, list of statistical surveys of ministries

2 Organizational structure of GSO

Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery Statistics is a unit under

management of the General Statistics Office, has a function to assist the Director General in managing, directing and carrying out statistics of agriculture, forestry and fishery

DAFF perform surveys

1 The agricultural, rural and fishery census conducted every 5 years ;

2 Survey on cultivated areas of agricultural crops: Collect information on

cultivated areas of agricultural crops to evaluate the results of cultivation in each crop and in the whole year

3 Survey on output and yield of other annual and perennial crops:

Collect information on cultivation of annual and perennial crops to use as foundation for evaluating the results of cultivation in each crop and the whole year

Object: Annual and perennial crops

Enumeration unit: Households, enterprises, collectives, and organization

cultivating rice

Survey method: Sample survey

Content: Cultivated areas, harvested areas in each crop, harvested output,

harvested productivity

Time: After harvesting is completed for each crop in the year

4 Survey on output and yield of rice: Collect information on rice cultivated

to evaluate total rice output harvested in each crop and in the whole year

Object: Rice

Enumeration unit: Households, enterprises, collectives, and organization

cultivating rice

Survey method: Sample survey

Content: Cultivated areas, harvested areas in each crop; harvested output,

harvested productivity

Time: After harvesting is completed for each crop in the year

5 Survey on husbandry: Collect information on husbandry to use as

foundation for evaluating the results of husbandry

Subject: Livestock, poultries, other husbandry, and husbandry products

Enumeration uni: Hamlets, enterprises, collectives, organizations, unions, farms

and households doing husbandry activity

Survey method: Complete survey in combination with sample survey

Content Quantity, output and husbandry products in the period

Time: Frequency: every year; on 1st April and 1st October

6 Survey on fishery: collect information on fishery to use as foundation for

evaluating the results of aquaculture and exploitation

Subject: Aquatic products from aquaculture, and exploitation

Enumeration uni: Communes cultivating and exploiting aquatic products

-Enterprises, collectives, organizations and households cultivating and exploiting aquatic products

Survey method: Complete survey in combination with sample survey

Content: Information on situation (area of aquaculture, number and capacity of

ships) and other facilities, information on output and aquatic products, the results

of production of fishery breeds

Time: Frequency: every year; on 1st July and 31st December

7 Survey on farms: Collect information on development of farm of

agriculture, forestry and fishery

Subject: Farm of agriculture, forestry and fishery

Enumeration uni :Farm of agriculture, forestry and fishery

Survey method: Complete survey

Content: Information on labor, land use, husbandry, capital, income and values

of goods and services

Time: Frequency: 2 years; 1st July (conducting in years ended with 0, 2, 4, 6, 8)
