GETTING STARTED (p.38-39)

Date: 11/10/2018

I/ Class description: Around 20 students of a 10th-grade class, Vietnam-Australia School (intermediate level)

II/ Time: 45 minutes

III/ Objectives: After the lesson, Ss will be able to:

- Get to know the whole unit’s topic: volunteer and volunteer work

- Understand and remember 9 new words: volunteer, disadvantaged, by chance, advertisement, apply, hopeless, useful,

meaningful, helpful

- Present their opinions about volunteer work

- Make dialogues using 4 expressions: That sounds great!, … by chance, Not really, Well,…

I V/ Teaching aids: printed pictures (4), situation cues (4), ppt slides
