T h e D e - e x c t i a t i o n c i r c u i t i s c o m p o s e d o f f i e l d c u r r e n t b r e a k a n d l i n e a r - r e s i s t a n c e Inverse de-excitation is used for normal stop operation If there are some emergency accident, field-current

breaker trip immediately and the residue energy of rotor winding will be released by linear-resistance

The function of field-current breaker is breaking the rotor excitation current circuit and makeing sure that

residue energy of rotor winding transfer to de-excitation resistance

Trang 8

2.4.1 Calculation and choice of de-excitation resistance

The choice for de-excitation resistance value which refer to rotor winding reverse voltage generated duringthe course of de-excitation and the speed of de-excitation is very importance

The rotor winding voltage during the course of de-excitation calculated according to the following equation

I is the generator excitation current

The calculation equation for time constant of de-excitation:

De-excitation resistance value usually calculate as 2.5R , in consideration of the insulation of rotor f

winding when field-current breaker trip under 2 times force excitation In this case,the rotor windingvoltage is smaller than 60 percent of winding withstand voltage.the rated current of de-excitationresistance usually greater than 20 percent of rated excitation current

Trang 9

excessive voltage produced by the following reasons:

 Over voltage in DC side of rectifier bridge caused by rapid de-excitation

 Over voltage caused by thunderstrike

 Over voltage caused by closing or opening generator circuit breaker asynchronously

 Over voltage caused by generator short-circuit、under excitation and so on

Setting rule for the action value of rotor over-voltage protection:

 Less than 75 percent of rotor winding test voltage

 Less than the most permit voltage of rectifier bridge

 Greater than 2.5 times peak voltage value of excitation transformer secondary side

2.5 Field flashing circuit

The field flashing power come from DC or AC plant power supply

Field flashing function have two operation mode, automation and manul

A b i n a r y o u t p u t s i n g a l w i l l b e s e n t o u t a u t o m a t i c a l l y a n d f i e l d f l a s h i n g c o n t r a c t c l o s e duntil s tatorv roltageu t 2 p ise o rp go 0 t ercentv wf eated r eneratorw erminal oltage hen xcitation egulator ork

as automation mode In case the stator voltage can not maintain at the point of 20 percent of rated terminal

voltage, a field flashing failure singnal will be sent

It is necessary that Pressing the button SB3 when the field flashing mode is manual.In this case, excitation

regulaor operate by manual mode

Notice:

A.Th e r e a r e n o a u t o m a t i c f i e l d f l a s h i n g s i n g a l , w h e n e x c i t a t i o n r e g u l a t o r o p e r a t e u n d e r m a n u a l m o d e

FCR.In this case, the button SB3 must be press

B.Excitation current set value is 5 percent of rated no-load excitation current under manual mode.In this

case,if the stator voltage can not hold, it is a suggestion that increasing the excitation current setting

value IFR to 15 percent of rated no-load excitation current

C.There is a risk that generator voltage and excitation current oscillate in a greater range after changing

excitation current setting value to 15 percent of rated no-load excitation current.At worst, generator

stator voltage could exceed allowable values

D.It is a suggestion that the manual field-flashing operation pressing the button SB3 is in service as a

backup choice for the above reasons B&C

Constant reactive power operation must meet the following three conditions:

1 The generator operates in parallel

2 The generator operates in automatic operation method

3 Method selecting switch is located in constant reactive power factor input place

The above four operation methods can be interruptedly switched in operation, it’s notable that procedure

control manual tracking has 30 seconds delay, so when switch to manual operation from any methods, pay

attention that switch 30 seconds after operation parameter changing No need of delay when switch from

manual operation to other methods

to prevent faul t tracking delay, so the tracking of standby channel for operation channel has 30 seconds

delay, and there is 30 seconds delay before channel switchover

3.4  Normal opening steps (local)

Check the following components are in proper place:

 AC breaker 1QF is in open position,field-current breaker MK is in open position and green lamp

 Switch 3QK“Auto/Man”is in auto position;

 Select “local” of “local/master” switch 5QK;

The generator reaches rated speed 3000 r/min; having raising voltage condition, start to raise voltage:

1) Close AC breaker 1QF;

2) Press button HA, the red indicator light is on at the same time;

3) Press button SB1,regulator is running and generator terminal voltage rise up

4) When the terminal voltage is stabilized in setting voltage by soft start, increase voltage to

rated terminal voltage nearby through “increase/decrease” switch 2QK;

“inc reas e/decr ease” butt on 2QK if the vol t age c an not mai ntai n, incr ease manua l set val ue by

increase button 2QK then press “field flashing” button SB3;
