Thanks for joining! I’m Sapna and I’m so excited to share my free printables with you In this welcome pack, you’ll find:
My no-fail goal setting template, a tool I’ve used for over seven years to help both myself and my students reach personal, business and financial goals
A mini-goal setting sheet, so you can start small and focus on the goals that are most important to you It’s also great to use in the
classroom for younger students or teenagers
The Ultimate Phrasal Verbs Game - a game I invented to use with both my private tutoring and university ESL students It’s fun, creative and helps students remember the “dreaded” phrasal verbs Of course, I’ve included an instructions sheet and a blank card sheet, so you can insert your own favourite phrasal verbs and expand the game.
I’m thrilled to have you as a reader Stay tuned for blog posts on English teaching, motivational and organizational resources – coming up soon!

This easy to use game is a hit in the classroom for both older and younger learners It’s
helped me teach phrasal verbs both in the classroom and in private tutoring sessions for
students of all ages
Level: Common European Framework (CEFR) B1 and up (intermediate to advanced)
Age group: All ages
Time: 30 to 40 minutes
Background: Students should have covered some phrasal verbs in class This game can
be easily adapted to use only phrasal verbs that have been covered For advanced
(B2/C1) students, use all 60 phrasal verbs included in the deck of cards
Choose the phrasal verbs you will use from the deck of cards (see next page),
depending on your students’ level Print and cut out copies of these cards Plan to have
enough copies so students can work in groups of 2 to 4 Laminate the cards to re-use
them!
Start the lesson by giving a short introduction on what a phrasal verb is and
explaining how common they are in English Remind students that phrasal verbs can
have more than one meaning!
Distribute decks of cards (each group should have the same phrasal verbs in
their deck) I like to use coloured paper when photocopying so that teams can be easily
recognized (“Blue team”, “Pink team”, etc.)
Have students choose one team member to be the spokesperson and another
to be the writer
Give students 20 minutes to create a story using the phrasal verbs They should
rearrange the deck of cards on their desk until they are in the order used in the story
The story should be logical and connected (beginning, middle and end) and use the
phrasal verbs appropriately For phrasal verbs that have multiple meanings, any of the
definitions can be used The writer should be writing the story down as they go along
Have each group choose a spokesperson to read the story they have created
Have fun! You’ll be surprised how creative students can be with this task!
