music? Can you name any of the instruments they are playing?

that make the contraction

• Add the Ending Materials: whiteboard, markers Write these base words from

the story: wave, wear, play, sing, clap, dance Have children read the words Then

ask them to add the ending -ing to each word and write the new word on their

whiteboards Point out that some of the base words need spelling changes before the

ending is added Call on children to read the new words
