Ex: The woman who/that lives next door is a journalist
Ex: A book which/that I bought yesterday is very interesting.
- Who/that: thay thế cho chủ ngữ và tân ngữ chỉ người.
- Which/that: thay thế cho chủ ngữ và tân ngữ chỉ vật.
NOTES:
- Không được dùng THAT: Khi phía trước (that) có dấu
phảy hoặc giới từ :
Ex: This is my book, that I bought 2 years ago

- Which/that: thay thế cho chủ ngữ và tân ngữ chỉ vật.
NOTES:
- Không được dùng THAT: Khi phía trước (that) có dấu
phảy hoặc giới từ :
- Bắt buộc dùng THAT: Khi danh từ mà (that) thay thế gồm 2 danh từ trở lên trong đó vừa có người vừa có vật
- Nên dùng THAT
+ Khi đầu câu là IT trong câu nhấn mạnh (Cleft sentences)
