What is the objective of the 2015 WEPs Annual Event?
Timed to observe International Women’s Day, this milestone event will bring together inspiring leaders from business, government, civil society and the United Nations for a unique exchange on the essential role that business can and must play to realize gender equality and achieve sustainable development Participants will reflect on progress made in the context of the Beijing Platform for Action and Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and establish an action agenda, guided by the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), to strengthen private sector contributions to meeting the forthcoming Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Please see here for information on past events
When and where will the Event take place?
The 2015 WEPs Annual Event will take place over 10-11 March 2015
On 10 March, the Stakeholders UN Plenary and Opening Reception will take place at the United Nations Headquarters (45th Street & 1st Avenue)
The second day (11 March), WEPs Partners in Action: Implementation and Innovation, will provide opportunities for business to business dialogue and learning This day will take place at the Wyndham New Yorker Hotel (481 8th Avenue & 34th Street, New York, NY)
Do all participants need to register in advance?
Yes, all participants must register via the 2015 WEPs Annual Event online registration system Only individuals who have received an invitation will be able to access the registration system To request an invitation, please contact wepsevents@unglobalcompact.org Please be aware that emails and letters to the Global Compact Office cannot be processed and will not be accepted as a substitute for online registration
Are all sessions open to all registered participants?
No While the Stakeholders UN Plenary on 10 March is open to all participants, due to budgetary and space constraints, the Opening Reception on 10 March and the WEPs Partners in Action business to business dialogue on 11 March are only open to business participants and a limited number of non-business representatives that are working concretely with the WEPs to advance gender equality Priority is given to companies that have signed the CEO Statement of Support, businesses that are members of the UN Global Compact and non-business participants that are concretely working with the WEPs A cost contributing fee does apply Please visit the Participant Event Info website for information about the fees

A cost-contributing fee does apply to participants registered for the Opening Reception and WEPs Partners in Action sessions with the exception of representatives from: Government and United Nations The Opening Stakeholders UN Plenary on 10 March is open to all registered participants, free of charge Please refer to the registration fees for further information

Trang 3Does the WEPs Secretariat sponsor any participants to attend the event?
Unfortunately, due to limited resources, at this time the WEPs Secretariat is unable to sponsor any participants to attend the WEPs Annual Events However, portions of the WEPs Annual Event will be webcasted and all materials and resources from the event will be available on the WEPs website
What will be the language of the 2015 WEPs Annual Event?
The Event will be conducted in English In the past, companies attending the event have requested and sponsored translation to other languages To learn more, please contact womens-empowerment-principles@unglobalcompact.org
What is the registration process for the event? Do I need a security pass to enter the United Nations Headquarters?
YES! Security passes granting access to the UN will only be issued to registered participants Participants may pick up their security passes from 12:30-2:00 pm on 10 March at the 46th Street UN Headquarters security entrance (46th street and 1st Ave) Information about picking up security badges on 10 March at the UN will be sent via email to all registered participants closer to the date of the event
A registration table will be setup outside the reception area on 10 March as well as at the Wyndham New Yorker Hotel on 11 March
Please arrive promptly so the programme can begin on time
When will registration open for the 2015 WEPs Annual Event?
Early Registration for companies that have signed the CEO Statement of Support for the WEPs will commence December 2014 Additional invitations will be sent out in January 2015 To request an invitation, please email wepsevents@unglobalcompact.org
