results-people’s living standars have greatly improved.I learned all about this from my students-when they told me stories about themselves and their families

employee earning only U$$ 250,which is ered a fortune by local standars.Hai’s case is typical of the “brain drain” from states to private foreign companies in Viet Nam now.

effects of Doi Moi have been felt more
drastically in rural Viet Nam.a farmer can now choose what to plant-this decision is based on the price and demand of the market. Before Doi
Moi,despite having worked in the field day after for years, Nhan’s parents could hardly earn
enough to feed the whole family.Nom his family can buy equipment such as mechanized plows
and threshing machines that produce higher
yields

days when colleges gradiates like Linh did not
have to worry about a job, thanks to centralized planning system.A governments job promise
security ,but it is not easy to compete with many others for one jobs now.To avoid
unemployments,Lonh decided to set up a small business ta trade in leather shoes. Now she has branches in three other provinces around Ho Chi Minh City
