Part Documentation

Parametric Modeling Files/Modes

Part – used to create individual parts

made of the same material

Drawing – used to create 2D drawings from a 3D model

Assembly – used to link multiple parts

into assemblies or sub-assemblies

Presentation – used to create exploded assembly drawings and parts list

Concurrent Engineering

Model Data Associativity

Associativity refers to links set up

between the 3D CAD database and

supporting applications

Changes in model reflected in supporting applications

 Unidirectional  change in model reflected

in support application, but not vice versa

 Bidirectional  changes in either model or support application data will affect the other

Documentation Drawings
