Ví dụ 1:
If I were in your shoes, I wouldn’t do that
→ Were I in your shoes, I wouldn’t do that
Ví dụ 2:
If I were you, I would love him
→Were I you, I would love him
Ví dụ 3:
If I had won the lottery, I would have bought a car
→ had I won the lottery, I would have bought a car
Ví dụ 3:

→ Should I study hard, I will pass the exam (với câu điều kiện loại 1, ta mượn thêm “Should”)
2 Đảo ngữ với câu so…that/such…that.
SO, SUCH và tất cả những từ trước “that” được đưa lên đầu câu.
Ví dụ 1:
He is so lazy that everyone hates him
→ So lazy is he that everyone hates him
Ví dụ 2:
I am so fond of music that I spend all of my free time learning it
→ So fond of music am I that I spend all of my free time learning it
3 Nhìn vào những ví dụ sau
Ví dụ 1:
The atmosphere is happy and cozy
→ happy and cozy is the atmosphere
Ví dụ 2:
The film is wonderful
→ Wonderful is the film
4 Đảo ngữ với những từ bán phủ định: never, seldom, rarely, little, no sooner…than, hardly/ scarcely… when
Ví dụ 1:
I rarely talk about him
→ Rarely do I talk about him
Ví dụ 2:
I have never seen an interesting film like this
→ Never have I seen an interesting film like this
Ví dụ 3:
I had no sooner finished the report than I went to bed
→ No sooner had I finished the report than I went to bed
Với trường hợp này, ta đưa từ bán phủ định lên đầu câu, sau đó là trợ từ.
5 Đảo ngữ với ONLY, MANY, MUCH, NO, NOT UNTIL.
Những từ only, many, much, no, not until và phần còn lại của câu cũng được đảo lên đầu câu
