Trang 1AGREEMENT: So, Too, Either, Neither
Game to be played in teams, 3 or 4 students per team You may use a coin
The purpose of the activity is to help students understand and acquire these agreement formulas The answers need to be of the form: I do, too; so do I; I don't either; neither do I
Cut the table with the individual words Give a set to each team Instruct students to place all the pieces face up Write on the board: heads – too/neither ; tails – so/either (so that students really need to think of the correct order) To play: 1 write a subject pronoun on the board (you may go in order, first I, second you, etc.) 2 Flip the coin and tell students if it's tails or heads so that they know which forms they need to use in their answer 3 At first write a sentence on the board 4 The teams need to put the words in order and raise their hand 5 Teacher goes around checking that the answer is correct Do not accept just a verbal answer; they really need
to put the words in order If the answer is correct, the team gets a point If it is incorrect, go to the team that raised their hands second and so on 6 After several rounds, stop writing the sentences on the board and just say them aloud Students really get into this game and even the quiet ones benefit from the lively and fast-paced activity
