1).INSPECTION
SUBJECT: Lot Acceptance Sampling Plans
The inspection quantities and acceptance criteria are taken from Military Standard 105D, an accepted statisticalsampling standrad used in industry today, these inspection quantities and acceptance criteria are outlined underthe following Lot Acceptance Sampling Plans
The Maximum percent defective in statistical sampling is known as the Acceptance Quality Level or A.Q.L Thefollowing Acceptable Quality Levels may be used for softgoods inspection
The Lot Acceptance Sampling Plan used by the Gander Mountain inspector is Single Sampling Plan-2.5%
In order for proper quality decisions to be made on incoming merchandise shipments using the Lot AcceptanceSampling Plans, the inspector's sample must be ramdom,Ramdom Sampling means that at any one time each ofthe remaining uninspected units in the merchanidse shipment has an equal chance of being the next unit selectedfor the sample
Choosing ramdom cartons in which every unit will be inspected is not ramdom sampling, Although the cartonsare picked ramdomly, the softgoods product is not , This is known as sampling bias in which the sample is takenfrom the same location (in this case, the shipping carton).Sampling bias is detrimental to good decision making
It can significantly distort the product acceptance decision by greatly increasing the risk of either accepting a
"poor" quality shipment or rejecting a good quality shipment
Using Single Sampling Plan-2.5% A.Q.L…, The Lot Acceptance Sampling Plan basically operates as follows:
As an example if an incoming shipment of 300 untis are reveived at the distribution center, the Quality
Assurance Inspector will randomly select 50 units for their sample and will inspect the units for quality using
AQL 2.5 inspection standards
1) If the Quality Assurance Inspection team finds 6 defective products(not defects) or less, the
incoming merchandise shipment is considered acceptable for release to the distribution center
and eventual shipment to the stores
2) If the Quality Assurance Inspection team finds 7 defective products or more, the incoming
merchandise shipment is rejected and requires and Gander Mountain merchandising disposition. The Quality Assurance Inspection Team will either accept or reject incoming merchandise shipments using the Lot Acceptance Sampling Plans contained in this manual, However the Quality Assurance Inspection Team may reject a merchandise shipment using sound judgement if a defect is a reoccurring defect or a condition of stock.for example as in the case above the Lot Acceptance Sampling Plan requires 6 or moreunits to be defective in the single sample to reject the merchandise shipment, If the sample had 5
defective products But 4 of the poroducts had the same reoccurring defect, such as-malfunctional zippers, the quality Assurance Inspection Supervisor would be using sound judgement in rejecting the merchandiseshipment

I PACKAGING AND LABELING REQUIREMENTS
A Pallet Specifications (see related Violation Code “PV”)
1 All palletized shipments must be on GMA #1 hardwood 48” x 40” pallets
2 Maximum pallet weight including the load must not exceed 2,000 pounds
3 The pallet’s condition must be sufficient to support the weight of the load during shipment
4 All materials must be wrapped or strapped securely to the pallet
5 Carton cannot overhang the standard 48”x 40” pallet, except where the product is incapable
of fitting within this guideline Products that overhang or have specific handling
characteristics, which require the use of a specialized pallet, will be accepted
6 If more than one purchase order is on a pallet, then each purchase order must be clearly
separated and identified
Note: Firearm Vendors must not embed firearms within other merchandise on a pallet If there is a
sufficient quantity of firearms for a pallet, they must be palletized separately and the pallet label must state "ATTENTION CRW" Firearms shipped in less than pallet quantities, should go by either a LTL (less than truckload) carrier or UPS, according to the routing instructions
7 Single shipments with multiple purchase orders, must have individual purchase orders
grouped together Do not scatter cartons of a single purchase order throughout multiple
pallets After grouping purchase orders, group UPCs within that purchase order together
8 A shipment involving multiple pre-pack (pre-mark) by store purchase orders must have
individual purchase orders grouped together, then cartons for each store must be grouped within that purchase order
Definition: Pre-mark orders are shipped to the distribution center, but are pre-packaged by
individual store Please review the Cross-Dock PO Guidelines section for further information.
9 Shipments not made on pallets (floor stacked) should follow the same loading configuration
as specified in numbers 6-8 in this section
10 When palletizing, turn all labels facing out, whenever possible, to make it easily accessible to
the receiver
11 Allowed pallet-level labeling and packing (in lieu of per-carton labeling) by Order Model:
(a) Bulk: pallet-level labeling use restricted to a pallet containing ONLY a single UPC and a
