A KIẾN THỨC CƠ BẢN:

I PAST SIMPLE TENSE OF TO BE

* Be  was/ were

Affirmative:( Dạng khẳng định)

I, She, He, It, Hoa, Peter + was ….

You, We, They, Hoa and Peter + were …

EX: I was in my room yesterday

They were at home last night

Negative: (Dạng phủ định)

S + was/ were + not (wasn’t/ weren’t)

EX: I wasn’t in my room yesterday They weren’t at home last night

Interrogative: (Dạng nghi vấn)

Was/ Were + S ….?

 Yes, S + was/ were

 No, S + wasn’t/ weren’t

Ex: Was you in your room yesterday? – Yes, I was

- No, I wasn’t (was not) Were they at home last night? – Yes, they were

- No, they weren’t (were not)

II PAST SIMPLE TENSE

- Thì quá khứ đơn được dùng để chỉ một việc đã xảy ra ở quá khứ, trong câu

thường có các trạng từ chỉ thời gian quá khứ như yesterday, last, ago…

- Động từ ở thì quá khứ đơnđược chia làm hai loại: Động từ có quy tắc

(regular verb) và động từ bất quy tắc (irregular verb).

* ĐỘNG TỪ CÓ QUY TẮC:

Cách thành lập: S + V (infinitive) +ED

Trường hợp thêm “ED”:

1 Thông thường chỉ việc thêm “ED” sau động từ: look + ed  looked

talk + ed  talked

2 Khi động từ tận cùng có “e” rồi thì ta chỉ việc thêm “d”:

arrive + d  arrived live + d  lived

3 Khi động từtận cùng là phụ âm nhưng trước nó là nguyên âm thì ta phải gấp đôi phụ âm đó rồi thêm “ED”: stop  stopp + ed  stopped

Fit  fitt + ed  fitted

4 Khi động từ tận cùng là “Y” thì đổi “Y”  IE +D: try trie +d  tried

* ĐỘNG TỪ BẤT QUY TẮC:

Cách thành lập: S +Simple past (column 2) (cột 2)

Lưu ý: Học sinh phải thuộc bảng động từ bất quy tắc ở cột 2.

Affirmative: (Dạng khẳng định)

S + V (infinitive) + ED/ V2

EX: I did my homework yesterday

Lan and her friends came here two years ago.

Negative: (Dạng phủ định)

S + didn’t (did not) + V (infinitive) ….

EX: I didn’t do my homework yesterday

Lan and her friends didn’t come here two years ago

Interrogative: (Dạng nghi vấn) Yes/ No questions

Did + S + V(infinitive) …?

EX: Did you do your homework yesterday?

- Yes, I did

- No, I didn’t

Did Lan and her friends come here two years ago?

- Yes, they did

- No, they didn’t

* PRONUNCIATION (Cách phát âm khi động từ thêm “ED”)

/ t/: Khi động từ tận cùng là /f/, /k/, /p/, /ts/, /s/, /s/,/x/

EX: laughed, asked, helped, watched, pushed, dressed

/Id/: khi động từ có âm tận cùng /d/, /t/

EX: needed, fitted, wanted

/d/: là những động từ có âm tận cùng là các âm còn lại

EX: enjoyed, saved, arrived, filled, returned, remembered.
