Unit 11 – Writing ( Grade 10)

Background Information:

Description of Students:

The students are in the 10th grade and are all native Vietnamese speakers The students have studied ESL for nearly 10 years and several are more confident with writing and reading than they are with speaking

Objectives:

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

_Understand the graphs and write a paragraph to interpret the information from the graph

_ Be updated with the fomat and the language used in describing graphs Skills focus / Grammar structure(s) / Vocablary:

The skill focus is writing and reading

Grammar structures and vocabulary are presented

Lesson:

Time Procedure Notes

5’ Warm – up

T shows pictures of two graphs :

T prepares two large graphs on A0-sized papers

T gives definition of graph

T tells Ss to describe the two above graphs and

give features of a graph

15’ Pre – Writing

Vocabulary

1 Construction debris: mảnh vụn công trình
