Lesson 1: Getting started

Listen and read

*) Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to ask for explanations of

events

*) Language focus: - Vocabulary: rice-cooking, water-fetching, fire-making, urge, yell,

about 5 people (p.121) and gives advices;

- Show the pictures (p.121) to lead in the

new lesson

- Explains the meanings of the new words

- Sets the scene: Ba invites his friend, Liz

to a traditional festival in the North of
