ANALYSIS AND DESIGN HH HH1 1H TH 6 1 Design efficient networked systems (LÒ 3) cá ch HH hiep 6

Explain the difference between logical design and physical esIứn che 6

5.1.1 Difference between logical and physical data model

4 Compare logical and physical design:

O The physical data model describes the physical structure of the database The logical data model is a high-level model that does not describe the physical structure of the database

O The physical data model depends on the database management system used However, the logical data model is independent of the database management system used

O The logical data model includes entities, attributes, relationships, and keys The physical data model includes tables, columns, data types, primary and foreign key constraints, triggers, and stored procedures

In the logical data model, entities and attributes are represented with long informal names, while the physical data model utilizes abbreviated formal names for table and column names The logical data model is developed based on initial descriptions, serving as the foundation from which the physical data model is subsequently derived.

- You are employed as a Network Engineer by Nguyen Networking Limited, a high-tech networking solution development company, which have branches in Ho

Chi Min City, Hanoi, Da Nang and Can Tho

-The company has been contracted to implement a networking project from a local educational institute The specification of the project is given below:

-People: 200 students, 15 teachers, 12 marketing and administration staff, 5 higher managers including the head of academics and the programmer manager,

-Resources: 50 student lab computers, 35 staff computers, 3 printers

The building consists of three floors, with all computers and printers situated on the ground floor Additionally, there are two IT labs: one located on the first floor and another on the second floor.

-As a first task, the CEO of the company Mr Nguyen has asked you to investigate and explain networking principles, protocols and devices and submit a report

- We will split the three floors of the building as follows, based on the customer's request:

+ There will be four rooms on the ground floor, including:

O There are 15 computers and a printer in the teacher's room

O There are 12 PCs and a printer in the space for marketing and administration employees

O Shigher-ranking managers’ rooms, including the head of academics and the program manager, as well as a printer

- We will also need to install more devices if there are more students or staff in order to meet the growing demand

- To link the LANs of the rooms, a router-PT with 8 fast ethernet ports (with the setting of the port's card) is used

- The next step will be to choose a network address for our design We'll use the 192.168.1.0/24 to 192.168.19.0/24 network for our building network

- To make it simpler for the configurator to discover the device, we'll name it after the IP address we've configured

- If there are problems, such as devices colliding, setup mistakes, and so on, they are solely local

- The WAN's devices will continue to operate properly

- There are hardly any transmission collisions

- The network has been divided into a series of small LAN clusters to facilitate management, maintenance, and repair

- It can quickly and easily add more machines as demand increases

- Ahigh cost It requires a complex setup and a high level of expertise

6.2 Evaluate the design of the network

This facility serves as a learning environment, and while we may enhance our equipment to increase capacity, our existing system is designed to meet the requirements for a reliable transmission line.

- Second, because the system is self-contained, it will function properly and effectively even if there is a problem on the first level or in a particular room

- Teachers, marketers, and senior management may easily operate each printer in a room on the first level

- To maintain the network operating efficiently, we should do routine maintenance

- To maintain and improve this sophisticated educational system, highly qualified engineers are needed

O In addition, the company we create should use local servers (BTEC WEB

Server, FTP Mail Server, BTEC DNS Server) rather than public services (Gmail, Outlook):

O_ It aids with data security We have improved privacy protection, and most assaults are less likely to happen

O Additionally, the system would be simpler to run and maintain The line speed would also be quicker

O The amount of information provided is not as vast as public services, and acquiring information outside of the public network might be difficult

Performed Student: Nguyen Thanh Tai

2 Implement and diagnose networked systems (LO4)

2.1 Implement a networked system based on a prepared design (P7)

In 2021, we utilized Cisco Packet Tracer version 8.0.0.0212, a popular and user-friendly application that simplifies the configuration process for a wide range of devices.

- Once the planning and design are complete, we'll install and set up our network

- The networks and gateways will then be noted so that configuration can be done more quickly and effectively

- To examine the connection between the two LANs, the 192.168.1.0/24 network and the 192.168.3.0/24 network, we will now use the "ping" technique

When a ping is executed, it sends a message four times, similar to sending mail This process may result in a "request time out" if the router needs to determine the paths of the devices involved.
