NORME INTERNATIONALE CEI IEC INTERNATIONAL STANDARD 61000 6 6 Première édition First edition 2003 04 Compatibilité électromagnétique (CEM) – Partie 6 6 Normes génériques – Immunité contre l''''IEMN HA po[.]

Critère d'aptitude A: performance normale

The device must operate as intended during and after testing, with no degradation in performance or loss of function compared to the manufacturer's specified level This requirement holds true when the device is used under the conditions outlined by the manufacturer If the manufacturer does not specify a normal level of performance, it can be inferred from the product description, documentation, and the user's reasonable expectations when using the device as intended.

Critère d'aptitude B: dégradation temporaire, auto-récupérable

After testing, the device must continue to operate as intended, with no degradation in performance or loss of function compared to the manufacturer's specified level when used under the conditions outlined by the manufacturer During testing, some degradation in performance is acceptable, but no changes to the operating mode or stored data are allowed If the manufacturer does not specify the minimum acceptable performance level or permissible loss of function, these parameters can be derived from the product description, documentation, and the user's reasonable expectations when using the device as intended.

The L'EST should be tested in operational modes that are most likely to cause malfunctions while remaining compatible with normal applications If the specific modes prone to issues are unknown, all typical operational modes should be evaluated The sample configuration must be adjusted to achieve maximum susceptibility relevant to standard applications and installation practices Additionally, if the device is part of a system or can connect to auxiliary devices, it should be tested in a representative configuration to ensure real operational mode access It is also advisable to conduct a common-mode test between ports connected to power and telecommunication lines for protection concepts 1A and 2A during failure analysis.

The manufacturer must provide a functional description and define performance criteria related to HEMP immunity testing, which should be included in the test report If the testing reveals that the apparatus poses a danger or is unsafe, it will be considered a failure of the test.

The generic performance criteria are described below.

Performance criterion A: normal performance

The equipment must function as designed both during and after testing, with no acceptable decline in performance or functionality below the manufacturer's specified levels In cases where the manufacturer does not define the normal performance standards, these can be inferred from the product description, documentation, and reasonable user expectations for intended use.

Performance criterion B: temporary self-recoverable degradation

The apparatus must function as intended after testing, with no performance degradation or loss of function below the manufacturer's specified performance level during intended use While some performance degradation is permissible during the test, the actual operating state and stored data must remain unchanged If the manufacturer does not define the minimum performance level or acceptable performance loss, these can be inferred from the product description, documentation, and reasonable user expectations for intended use.

Performance criterion C: recoverable degradation

Temporary loss of function is permissible after testing, as long as the function can be restored through control operations However, any alteration of stored data is prohibited.

The tests shall be carried out within the operating ranges of temperature, humidity and pressure specified for the product, and at the rated supply voltage.

The EUT must be tested in its most vulnerable operating mode, reflecting typical usage If these modes are unclear, all normal operating modes should be evaluated The test sample's configuration should be adjusted to maximize susceptibility in line with standard applications and installation practices Additionally, if the equipment is part of a system or can connect to auxiliary devices, it should be tested with the minimum representative configuration of these devices to ensure normal port operation.

If the manufacturer's installation instructions specify the use of external protective components or clearly defined measures in the user manual, testing must be conducted with the external protections installed and the specified measures implemented.

The configuration and operational mode during testing must be accurately documented in the test report Since it is not always feasible to test all functions of the device, the most critical operating modes should be prioritized.

When an apparatus has a high number of similar accesses with numerous similar connections, it is essential to select an adequate number of accesses to simulate operational conditions effectively This ensures that all different types of terminations have been tested.

A test report must be created as part of the product documentation If the manufacturer has employed specific functional suitability criteria for testing immunity against IEMN-HA, this information should be clearly indicated in the product documentation provided to the user.

The selection of tests used to assess immunity is influenced by the specific device, its configuration, accessibility, technology, and operational conditions.

Les essais doivent être effectués sur les accès significatifs de l’appareil en conformité avec les

Tables 1 to 7 outline the testing requirements for devices qualified for industrial environments according to IEC 61000-6-2 For protection concepts 3 to 6, only the tests listed in Table 8 are necessary if the device meets these standards Similarly, for devices qualified for power plant and substation environments under IEC 61000-6-5, only the tests in Table 8 are required for protection concepts 3 to 6 In contrast, protection concepts 1A, 1B, 2A, and 2B must adhere to the tests specified in Tables 1 to 7, with testing conducted on significant access points.

Considering the electrical characteristics and usage of certain devices, it can be concluded that some tests may be inappropriate and, therefore, unnecessary In such cases, it is essential to document in the test report the decision not to conduct the tests and the justification for this choice.

9 Exigences pour les essais d’immunité

The description of the test, specifications for the test generator, testing methods, and installation requirements are outlined in the referenced fundamental standards While the content of these standards is not repeated, this section of IEC 61000 includes necessary modifications and additional information for practical testing The elements required for conducting immunity tests for devices covered by this standard are introduced based on access type Tests must be performed in a well-defined and reproducible manner, conducted individually as separate tests and in sequence, with the order of access testing being optional For tests where both polarities are not specified, the test should be conducted using the most suitable polarity.

When a manufacturer's installation instructions specify the use of external protection devices or measures in the user manual, it is essential to conduct tests with these external protections in place.

The test report must accurately document the configuration and operational mode during testing Since it may not be feasible to evaluate every function of the apparatus, it is essential to focus on the most critical operational modes.

When dealing with apparatus that features numerous similar ports or connections, it is essential to select an adequate number to accurately replicate real operating conditions and ensure comprehensive coverage of all termination types.

A test report must be included in the product documentation It is essential to specify any special performance criteria used for HEMP immunity tests within the documentation provided to the user.

The evaluation of immunity through testing is influenced by the specific apparatus, including its configuration, ports, technology, and operating conditions Tests should be conducted on the appropriate ports as outlined in Tables 1 to 7 For apparatus qualified for industrial environments per IEC 61000-6-2, only the specified tests are applicable.

Table 8 are required for protection concepts 3 through 6 If the apparatus has been qualified for power station environments in accordance with IEC 61000-6-5, then only the tests listed in

Table 8 are required for protection concepts 3 through 6 For test concepts 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B, tests listed in Tables 1 to 7 apply Tests shall only be carried out where the relevant ports exist.
