This stand rd specifies the method used for the

determination of the water a sorption b means of

immer ion in conformance with ISO 62, method 1,

a plca le for transp rent materials In a dition,it

specifies the p rticular conditions for air raft

g lazing

3 Purpose ofthe m ethod

Indication of the behav iour of materials in certain

moist conditions The v alues do not represent the

ma imum amou t of water that can be a sorbed

The a sorption of water can afect the dimensions

and the electrical, thermal and mechanical

properties

4.1 Balance with an ac uracy of 1 mg

4.2 Ov en which can be maintained at a temperature

of ( 50±2)°C

at( 23±0,5)°C

The specimen shal be ( 50±1) mm square with a

thick es of ( 3,0±0,2) mm machined fom the she t

under test

6 Procedur

Thre specimens are dried in an ov en for ( 24±1) h

at a temperature of ( 50±2)°C, co led in a

desic ator and each is weig hed to the nearest 1 mg

They are then placed in disti ed water maintained

at a temperature of ( 23±0,5) °C

Precautions are taken to prev ent specimens f om

making contact ov er any substantial area, either

with one another or with the container

After ( 24±1) h they are taken f om the water and

al surace water remov ed with a clean dry cloth or

with fi ter p per

The specimens are weig hed to the nearest 1 mg

ag ain within one min te of taking them fom the
