This standard specifies a test method to verify
that the dry film lubricant has no corrosive effect
on steels

EN 3021, Aerospace series — Molybdenum
disulphide dry lubricants to be applied as a film —
Technical specification1)
EN 3032, Aerospace series — Test method for dry
film lubricants — Thickness measurement
3 Specimens and test equipment
Three specimens in 0,18 % (nominal) carbon steel
of approximately 75 mm × 150 mm × 3 mm,
polished on one surface to obtain a surface
A container with a lid, 2/3 filled with distilled water,
or any other equivalent equipment to meet the
requirements of clause 4.
4 Procedure
Degrease the specimens with an appropriate solvent and dry them
Apply a dry film lubricant to EN 2491, to the polished surface of each specimen immediately after degreasing Verify to EN 3032 that the thickness meets the requirements of EN 3021
Place the specimens in a humid atmosphere (95 ± 3) % at (23 ± 2) °C for 30 h
5 Expression of results
Examine the specimens visually Any discolouration, pits or any other sign of corrosion, indicate that the dry film lubricant has a corrosive effect
6 Test report
It shall include the following:
— reference to this standard;
— film designation to EN 3021;
