5 Requirements

5.1 Mater ials

The concr ete used in the man factur of ti es and fitings shal be for med b mix ing c ment, agg reg ate

an wate an prod c d b the hardening of the c ment pas e (c ment an wate )

5.2 Dimensions

5.2.1 Hang ing leng th and squarenes

The tile hanging leng th shal be de lar ed in the man factur r’s tech ical spe ification F r ties with a

r g ular front edge, the values of l shal be ± 4 mm of the man factur r’s de lar d value when tes ed in

ac or danc with EN 49 :2 11, 5.2

The squar nes for ties with nominaly cons ant hang ing leng th, when tes ed in ac ordanc with

EN491:2 1 , 5.2.2.1, shal be calculated as the dife enc between values l an l an shal be not

g reate than 4 mm

This sub-clause does not a ply for tiles that ar designed, for ex ample for aes hetic r asons, with an

ir reg ular front edg e

5.2.2 C v er width

5.2.2.1 Genera l

5.2.2.2 Inter locking tiles

When ties with cover width sh nt de lar d b the man factur r ar tes ed in ac ordanc with

EN491:2 1 , 5.3.3.1, the cover width shal confor m to the folowing :

5.2.2.3 No - nter locking ties

W hen non-inter locking ties ar tes ed in ac ordanc with EN 49 :2 1 , 5.3.3.2, the mean cover width

shal be ± 3 mm of the man factur r’s de lar ed value

5.2.3 Flatnes

When ties ar e tes ed in ac ordanc with EN 49 :2 11, 5.4, the g ap between any designed contact p int

an the flat sur fac shal not ex ce d 3 mm or cw 1 0 mm to the near s mi imetr , whichever is the

5.2.4 Fit ings

The man factur r shal identify an de lar the dimensions an toler anc s an method of

measur ement of the fiting r levant to it use Wher e r levant, the ti e element of a co r dinated fiting

shal conform to 5.2.1, 5.2.2 an 5.2.3

5.3 Mas

The mas of ties an fitting s shal be de lar d in the man factur r’s te h ical spe ification

W hen ties ar tes ed in ac ordanc with EN49 :2 1 , 5.5, the mean mas shal be:

a) man factur er’sde lar d mas ±0,2 kg for tiles with a de lar ed mas not greate than 2 kg;

b) man factur er’sde lar d mas ±1 % for tieswith a de lar ed mas greate than 2kg

5.4 Fixing holes (w her e provided)

Fix ing holes, wher e provided, shal be ar ang ed so that an inten ed con e tion between the ties an / r

fittingsan the b ten can be achieved

5.5 Mechanical r esistance (tr ansver e streng th)

5.7.2 Fit ings

Fiting s, othe than valey ti es, when tes ed in ac ordanc with EN 49 :2 1 , 5.8, shal not be broken,

sep rated into p rt or cr acked

5.7.3 V aley ti es

When tested in ac or danc with EN 49 :2 1 , 5.8, valey ties shal confor m to the r q ir ment for

impe mea i ty ( e 5.6)

5.8 Nib support

Ties with nib( ) shal be tes ed in ac ordanc with EN491:2 1 , 5.9 The tie nib( ) shal sup or t the

— they satis y the provisionsof C mmis ion De ision 9 / 0 /EC [2], and

— any ex te nal co ting shal be inorganic or have a gros calor ific p tential (PCS) ≤ 4,0 MJ/m

5.9.1.2.2Other pro ucts

Prod ct not me ting the provisions of 5.9.1.2.1 shal be tes ed an clas ified in ac ordanc with

EN1 5 1-5 using the clas ification( s) r levant for the country of des ination of the prod ct The

prod ct to be tes ed shal be ins aled, in ad ition to the gene al provisions given in ENV 11 7, in a

man e r pr esentative of their inten ed use

5.9.2 Reaction to fire per for mance

5.9.2.1 Requirements

— they contain ≤ 1,0 % b weight or volume (whichever is the lowe ) of homog eneously dis r ibuted

organic mater ial ( othe than g lue);

b weig ht or volume (whichever is the lowe ) of homog eneously distr ibuted organic mate ial, is

5.9.2.2.2Other pro ucts

Prod ct not me ting the r q ir ment of 5.9.2.2.1 shal be tes ed an clas ified in ac or danc with

EN1 5 1-1 as folows:

— for a co ting system with a g ros calor ific p tential (PCS) ≤ 2,0 MJ/kg, when tes ed ac ording to

EN ISO 17 6, the pr od ct ma be clas ified A 1;

— for a co ting system with a PCS ≤ 2,0 MJ/m², the pr od ct ma be clas ified A 1 provided that the

co ting system, when tes ed ac or ding to EN 1 8 3, me t the r q ir ments for this given in

EN 13 0 -1;

— for a co ting system with a PCS > 2,0 MJ/kg an ≤ 4,0 MJ/m

6.2 Type testing
