1 Scope

This European Stand rd specifies methods for

determining the width, leng th, straig htnes and

flatnes of resi ient flo r cov ering s in she t form

For the purposes of this stand rd, the fol owing

3 Principle

The measurement at sev eral points of the width and

leng th of a test piece resting on a flat surace is

car ied out

4 Apparatus

4.1 A r ule o s mi-r igid ta pe,ac urate to2 mm, used

for measuring width

pos ible, of g reater leng th than the test piece to be

measured

6 Conditioning

Condition the u rol ed test piece at ambient

temperature for a minimum of4h Take the

measurements at ambient temperature

7 Procedur

7.1 Measurem ent of width

Place the test piece on the ta le, with the sur ace

lay er up ermost Measure the efectiv e width at

thre positions

7.2 Measurem ent of leng th

7.2.1 La out the test piece completely flat with the

sur ace lay er up ermost.Measure the leng th in two

places p ralel to the a is of the test piece

Unrol as far as pos ible and folow the procedure

Check the sur ace and edg es of the test piece for

ridg es, folds or other deformations

8 Expres ion ofresults

Calculate the efectiv e width of the test piece as the

smalest of the thre measurements Rou d of to

Calculate the mean v alue of the two recorded

9 Test r port

The test report shal contain the fol owing

information:

a) a reference to this stand rd, i.e EN426;

b) a complete identification of the product tested,

including ty pe, sour e, colour and man facturer’s

reference n mber ;

c) prev ious history of the sample;

d) the efectiv e width, in mi imetres;

e) the mean v alue of leng th, in metres;

f) the v alue of straig htnes , in mi imetres;

g ) the as es ment of flatnes ;

h) the temperature at which the test was car ied

out;

i any dev iation fom this stand rd which ma

hav e afected the results
