4 Materials and manufacture
The bolts shal be mach ined f om b r s that conform to BS L 16
5 Dim ensions and tolerances
5.1 All fin ished bolts shal confor m to the dimensions and tolerances specified in Ta le 1 and Ta le 2
5.2The clamping len gth of the bolt sh al conform to the dimensions an d tolerances specified in Ta le 2, and
shal be such that when a stand ard n t, without counter in or ring g aug e is, s rewed on as far as pos ible
b hand, its lea ing face is within a distance Mf om th e under ide of the bolt hea The ru -out of the
threa shal not ex ce d twice the threa pitch
5.3The nominal length of the bolt shal be the minimum bear ing length L, which is determined b the
minimum clamping leng th, M, les two thr ea pitches ( se Ta le 2)
