4 Designation, colour code, grit sizes

4.1 De ignation

The desig ation of the diamon in truments in r egard to the finenes of the diamon grit u ed s al conform

with the desig ation given in Ta le1

The colour code complements the desig ation Usage of the colour code is o tional, at the dis retion of the

man factur er If colour codin is u ed, the colours s al b those sp cified in Tab le1

The location on the diamon in trument w here the colour is a pled is at the dis r etion of the man facturer

4.3 Grain size distribution

4.3.1 Ma ro rits

The method for determinin or verifyin the grain size distrib ution of macrogrits for diamon s u ed in the

man factur e of in u trial prod cts (e.g grin in w he ls, saws) as sp cified in ISO610 , for gr ain sizes

The series of diamon grit sizes is desig ated as the D series (D 1 81 to D4 ), where “D” denotes diamon

4.3.2 Micr ogrits

Curr ently no internationaly ac e ted method for determinin or verifyin the grain size distribution of microgrits

for diamon s is a vaia le T herefore method fr om regional stan ard or national stan ar ds ar e u ed

The series of diamon grit sizes is desig ated as the M series, where “M” denotes micr ogrit

4.4 Grit size

The grit sizes as sp cified in Tab le1 s al b u ed for al typ s of diamon in truments
