ART CRITIC WILL SPEAK
AT UNIVERSITY MONDAY
Alfred Frankenstein, art and music critic for the San Francisco Chronicle, will speak on ’'American Art - American Moods" Monday (July 25)
at 8:15 p.m in the University of Montana Recital Hall, according to
Dean Charles W Bolen of the School of Fine Arts.
The speaker teaches history of American art at the University of California and Mills College He has also taught at Stanford, Harvard
and other American universities and at the Free University of Berlin and
the Salzburg Seminar in American Studies.
He is a contributing editor of High Fidelity magazine and writes extensively for other periodicals His latest book, "A Modern Guide to
Symphonic Literature," will be released by Appleton-Century this fall.
Frankenstein's free campus lecture is presented, in cooperation with the School of Fine Arts, by the Associated Students of the University as
part of their Lecture-Artist series.
