SPEAKER TO DISCUSS ENERGY CONVERSION WITHIN PLANTS AT UM
discuss "Photosynthesis Investigated with the Chloroplast" Monday night at the University
of Montana
His discussion at 8 p.m Monday in room 11 of the Liberal Arts Building will deal
with the conversion of light energy into chemical energy within plant cells
The speaker holds a doctorate in botany from the University of Illinois and from
1954-63 he was a professor of biochemistry at Cornell University
Dr Richard P Sheridan, an assistant professor of botany at UM, will be master
N Miller Jr., also an assistant professor of botany at UM, is coordinating Dr Gibbs'
visit to Missoula
Dr Gibbs' visit is sponsored by the Sigma Xi science honorary and the Scientific
Research Society of America in conjunction with the UM Public Exercises Committee
