Application Information and Criteria
One purpose of the Junior Civic League is to afford financial opportunity for continued intellectual improvement To further that purpose, the Junior Civic League awards annual scholarships to YSU students Depending on availability of funds, scholarships up to $1000 may be awarded for the upcoming academic year
EACH APPLICANT MUST:
be a full-time YSU student enrolled for upcoming Fall semester
have completed a minimum of 31 semester hours at YSU
have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on 4.0 scale
have at least one parent of African American origin
have three letters of recommendation
complete a personal statement of academic goals, career goals, and scholarship need
The award is based primarily on academic performance and need Current involvement in organized YSU academic and civic groups will be considered as well as the personal statement
Application Deadline: April 1, 2019
Scholarship recipients will be notified by mid-June and should plan to attend the
