Alexandra Overdijking is graduating with a Master of Accountancy from the School of Business Administration
Alex was born in Ayrshire, Scotland, before moving with her family to Estero, Florida, in 2008
She graduated summa cum laude from Stetson in 2018 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, studying accounting,
and business systems and analytics As an undergraduate student, she was actively involved on campus, including being President of Beta Alpha Psi and captain of Stetson’s Rowing Team Following her time as an undergraduate, Alex was excited to enroll in the MAcc program to continue studying accounting and learning from the amazing professors at Stetson
Alex currently works for Siemens as a project controller in Houston, Texas, after recently completing their Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP) This two-year program gave her the opportunity to experience a new role, business and city every six months She held positions in factory controlling, financial analysis, accounting and R&D controlling Throughout the program, she also volunteered for additional responsibilities such as being a co-lead for the FLDP internship and for SONNET, a week-long networking, training and orientation event for more than 120 early-career professionals at Siemens She is passionate about working at Siemens and looks forward to
developing further within the company Alex is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida and a Certified Management Accountant
She is very grateful for her time at Stetson University and is excited to now be a “double Hatter.” Alex looks forward to continuing to apply the knowledge and experience she has gained throughout her years at Stetson

Teresa Mitchell Rizzo is graduating with a Master of Education from the College of Arts and Sciences
Teresa was born and raised in western North Carolina The only daughter of Mike and Gail Mitchell is a graduate of the University of Mars Hill, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in physical education with a concentration in sports medicine Upon graduating, she pursued her senior internship at Flagler Palm Coast High School, where she discovered her love of education and the wonderful town of Flagler Beach This was also the hometown of her now-husband of
21 years
Continuing her pursuit of education, Teresa began her master’s studies at Stetson University in the early 2000s, but she was unable to complete the program due to the birth of her son, Joseph, and daughter, Caroline, who followed 16 months later She returned to Stetson in Spring 2019 to finish the journey
As a graduate student in the Educational Leadership Program at Stetson University, Teresa earned a GPA of 4.0 and was nominated by her professor for the Stetson Vibrant Leadership Award She hopes to continue her lifelong learning and is considering the pursuit of a doctorate degree sometime in the future
Discovering her passion for instructional coaching and educational leadership, Teresa has recently accepted a position as a literacy instructional coach at the elementary school level, with the aspiration of one day joining the Florida Department
of Education School Improvement Team supporting struggling schools to “Turn It Around.”
