Time management helps us increase productivity, health, maintain good relationships,

limit overload

INTRODUCTION

Time management is the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time between different activities Good time management enables people to work

smarter, save their time and lead to career success However, one of the big problems

people are dealing with is “time poverty” You have only 24 hours in a day but you

have to spend your time on many things like your work, your family, your study, etc

It leads to the consequence that you don’t have enough time to perform all your tasks

effectively Therefore, this writing aims to help you understand time management and

how to manage your time to get products in your life

1 Benefits 1.1 The role of time management for individuals:

Time is the most precious resource as well as the most valuable thing you have

It only goes straight ahead and cannot be irreplaceable by anything else All work

requires time so it plays an important role in each individual's life

Good time management can reduce stress levels Most people feel overwhelmed with their responsibilities and activities Instead of making clear decisions about what

they want to do, they continually react to what is happening around them Gradually,

they lose all sense of control Managing your time can stop all this overwhelm and

ensures you don’t feel anxious or tired all the time Hence, you will feel more

comfortable in your life and more confident about how to invest your time smartly

Less stress increases your life quality, especially your sleep quality It also helps create

a better work-life balance According to research at Lima University, 95.1% of

students said that time management was very helpful for them to deal with stress

Effective time management helps increase productivity and reach goals faster It requires you to make your targets clear and prioritize your most important tasks As a

result, you have more time to achieve other goals successfully When you manage

your time, you have to plan your performance in a day because planning time is an

essential element of time management To reach productivity, you must identify the

daily priority tasks that allow you to spend your time effectively working on them

Time management techniques improve self-discipline When practicing time management, you can train yourself by doing what you have set out Better in time

management you are, the more self-discipline you can improve because it helps you

increase concentration and you can take control of your day If you can manage your

time, you will not easily waste time on useless activities like surfing the Internet or

chatting For example, if you plan 6 main tasks a day, you can train self-discipline by

completing them with the slogan “I have to finish them today” Gradually, this can

become a positive habit

Time management is not only necessary for individuals but also helps boost the economy Effective time management can help business organizations reduce time to

achieve their goals in today's global business It is admitted that the success or failure

of business organizations depends on how efficiently time is used “Time is money”, if

an organization’s employees have time management habits, it will be highly

productive, maintain customers and possibly acquire a high market share This makes

time management become one of the most important factors of a successful business

Taking “A Case Study of Ghana Commercial Bank” in Hohoe, Ghana as a specific

example From this research, it is concluded that effective time management decreases

queues in the banking hall, ensures quick service delivery, and hence increases

productivity Therefore, time management positively affects the productivity of the

economy

2 Difficulty when not knowing how to arrange a time

Currently, many people do not know how to manage their own time It causes a lot of difficulties in their work as well as their lives, such as:

- Work unplanned If you don't have a detailed plan, it's easy to repeat tasks over and over again or get caught up in aimless tasks, thereby your time is lost

Unplanned work is also the reason why you procrastinate on important tasks

that they can do as much as they can And as a result, they often spend more time on

into it at the same time, resulting in the quality of the results they produce are not at

their best Moreover, putting together multiple tasks at the same time can put them

The inefficient arrangement of working time greatly affects the working psychology of people They are prone to focusing on other useless tasks instead of

create a procrastination mentality This mentality affects their work efficiency very

badly

Not knowing how to manage time will greatly affect everyone's psychology as well as work efficiency A successful person is someone who always knows how to

plan for himself and follow that plan Therefore, a person who does not know how to

manage time will find it very difficult to be successful at work

In life

Each person's time horizon is finite and it is not the same When you don't know how to manage your time, your life will inevitably suffer as well Sometimes, you

don't even have time to spend with your family, friends, or partner just because you

don't know how to manage your time It greatly affects your social relationships,

leading to an imbalance in your life

If you do not have a goal and calculate your working time You just work hard, even work and play, work efficiency is low and sometimes you don't have time to rest

or spend time with the people you love, your hobbies You will lose control in both

work and life It is easy to create resentment and discomfort in you and sometimes you

direct that discomfort on those around you such as family and friends, causing your

relationships to deteriorate

3 How to manage time 3.1 Make a to-do list

Most of us spend a huge amount of time doing things that we don't think are important Therefore, make a list of the most important things, and prioritize time to

do them first Every weekend, you should take a small amount of time to make a to-do

list for your next week

In your to-do table, you can list the things to do during the week in order of importance from top to bottom, make a note of the estimated time for that task, and of

course the actual time for the work that you do Reconciling the estimated time with

the actual time for completing your work will greatly aid in adjusting your time, and

how it works for your next tasks This can also be seen as a way for you to track your

performance You can create a to-do table as follows:

There are many methods for you to use to build a list of tasks to do such as notes on the smartphone, applications that support time management, calendar, or

writing on memory paper… Your job is to choose the method that best suits you, make

a list of tasks to do there, and follow the plan you set

Planning in detail the tasks that need to be done during the week or day is the easiest and most effective way for you to manage your time well

3.2 Focus on what important

After building a to-do list, you need to focus on what's most important Make it

a habit to only do things that you feel you need to do or want to do For different

people, important things can include very different things, and you have to figure out

what's the most important thing you need to do right away

Once you've identified what's important, most of the rest isn't necessary, or don’t need to spend too much time on it By focusing your energy and time on the few

things you can do, you can achieve success quickly In particular, while doing that

work, you must focus entirely on it and do not let external factors affect your work

progress Try to complete tasks within the scheduled time specified in your to-do list

and do not delay them

You'll find that when you focus on the few important tasks that need to be done right in front of you, you'll see a significant increase in your productivity You will no

longer be pressured by having to do too many tasks at once when you know how to

organize your time at the right time

3.3 Make the most of your free time

Studies say that people nowadays have more free time than ever before Then why doesn’t it feel that way? These days, our free time is usually spent watching

television, using computers, or communicating on our phones Images and information

are constantly flashing into our brains, so it’s no wonder we don’t feel as if we have

switched off To wind down and help regain our energy levels, it is important to use

our free time wisely

First, establish your goals Think about what you want to achieve in your free

time Do you want to get fit, get creative, or simply relax? Don’t worry about what

you ought to be doing, just think about what will make you feel more

content Whenever I have time on my hands, I usually watch movies so that I can not

only improve my English but also entertain myself But most of the time, I tend to go

for a stroll in the park near my house so that I can take in some fresh air and recharge

my batteries

Second, set a date Plan when you are going to enjoy your free time, and treat it

in the same way as anything else on your calendar If something else more important

comes along, you can choose whether or not to postpone it, but never cancel it!

Usually, I always schedule about 2-3 days in advance That helps me always complete

the work in the best way and save the most effective time After graduating, I assure

you that scheduling is very effective at work, it helps me become the best personal

secretary myself

Third, plan Make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your free time

in advance If you’re looking forward to a nice long bath, buy bath oil and candles If

you want to get out in the countryside, get your boots and map ready, and don’t forget

to check the weather forecast After I organize the to-dos for each day, I will schedule

more specific details for that day That makes me more proactive in managing my

time And I will work continuously for 2 weeks, then spend 1 day going out, or

traveling in a certain province That makes it imperative for me to plan and helps me

be a strict person in terms of managing my time

Guard your time Don’t let anything else encroach on your free time Ignore

the washing up and the vacuuming Don’t check your inbox for messages and turn off

your mobile phone Otherwise, the lines between free time and everyday life will

begin to blur, and you won’t feel refreshed I usually have a bad habit, which is using

my phone while using the toilet That consumes a lot of my time, and not only, but it

also affects my health So guys, don't let those bad habits dominate your time, it's

really bad

Get creative In many free time activities, we take the role of consumer When

we watch TV, play video games or read, we are only passively involved Take on the

role of producer for a change Build a model, write a blog or make an animation film

You will use a different part of your brain and will feel more energized as a result I

usually have a bad habit, which is using my phone while using the toilet That

consumes a lot of my time, and not only that, but it also affects my health So guys,

don't let those bad habits dominate your time, it's really bad

Do what you want But don’t go overboard Many people worry too much
