Trang 3• Mr Para explained that the Foley Stadium site is 14 acres on a flat site that provi des an exis ting sports compl e x for t he City The site was an old s wamp and was filled i n the 1920 ’s The sit e would requi re pil es to supp ort the new s chool and would al low only one pract ice fi el d wit h synth eti c turf Putti ng the proj ect on thi s sit e woul d m ean losing the us e
of t he st adi um for approxim ately 3 8 t e am s and 1,000 students Beaver Brook P ark fields are very activ e and l ocat ed i n a flood plai n Due to the fl ood pl ain, this site is not recomm ended for a new st adi um sit e
• Mr Para said the Chandler Magnet is a 22-acre site, the school was built
in the 1950 ’s and presentl y used as an el em ent ary s chool for 5 00 stud ents The new s chool would be 3 stories at the front and stepping up
to 4 stori es in t he back Additional l and from WSU and t he abutti ng resident s would be needed Along wit h the Fol ey si te, t his sit e woul d provide the l east impact t o the e xis ting Doherty st udent s duri ng construction M r Para s aid that there was als o no ot her facility i n the city to reloca te the enti re el em ent ary s chool popul ati on He then t urned the pres entat ion back to Ms Crockett to discuss the s ite ranki ng m at ri x
• Ms Crockett said a perfect score would be 185 and there are no sites that meet that score The im pact to the Fol ey St adium and Chandler Magnet exist ing faci lities put the Dohert y sit e with the best s core Tot al proj ect budget range for the new school is approxim at ely $300 million
Ms C rockett s aid t he ranked prefer red s o lution is the Doherty sit e an d has been recommended by the St eeri ng C ommitt e e and is b ei ng present ed
to the S chool B ui ldi ng Committ ee thi s evening for their vote
• Ms Crockett mentioned that beyond these three sites, we looked at other val ue -added opt ions for pro vidi ng fi elds t hat would be funded from
different sour ces and schedul es not rel at ed to the MSB A process for th e new p roj ect She as ked Mr P ara to discuss t he se vari ous opt ions
• Mr Para noted that putting the new school at the Doherty site would result in l oss of parking an d fiel ds during const ruction He identifi ed the exis ting Duffy Park t hat is near to the Doherty sit e for upgrade with a syntheti c turf pl aying fi el d that could be com plet ed before construction starts for the new s chool, by the Ci ty A pproxim at e b udget is est imated bet ween $4-5M
• The Foley site was considered to possibly convert a few small parcels into parki ng and a pl ay court whi ch woul d provi de bett er acce ss to the site at a $1.5M budget Additi onally , upgrade t o the fi elds with new under drains cou ld al so be done Approxi mat e budget is esti m at ed
bet ween $5-7M

2) C/Q – C ouncil or B ergm an was noted that M r S h ea (At hl eti c Di rector) was pres ent and asked hi m to speak about th e Fol ey St adium and how it com plicat es the s chool program ?
R) M r Shea s aid he was not oppos ed t o t he Foley sit e but was concerned where the t eams and student s could play if thi s si t e was s elected He said he was not aware of any plans to bui ld a new st adi um and that Fol ey
is heavily us ed in the Fall and S pri ng by all s chools He m entioned that Colleges could not provi de i deal ti m es for student i n t he Cit y and would take a back seat in practi ce and gam e slots He not ed that gra ss tu rf is severely dam aged by football games
3) C/Q – Is there consi deration now for St Pet ers sit e bas ed on the recent news arti cle
R) Mr Adams s ai d he al so read the arti cl e and it coul d t ake m onths for a decisi on f rom St P et ers and would j eopardize t he s chedule as part of the MSBA process for this proj ect
4) C/Q – Could t here be bonding included for t he fiel d upgra des as part of the MSBA f undi ng by the Cit y?
R) M r Zi dells not ed the bonding auth ori t y for the Dohert y project would
be specificall y for t he new s chool and not t he added fiel ds He s tat ed that concurrent l oan orders would be prepared once funds are identifi ed for the new fi el ds and could be bro ught before the Ci ty Council sometim e in J anuary
