As of Fall 2019
The Quantitative Experience (QE) general education requirement, which is a prerequisite course for the Traditional BSN pathway can be completed by meeting any one of the following:
Completion by Test Score:
Attain an SAT Math score of 600 or higher (580 or higher pre-2016) or an ACT Math score of 25
or higher
Attain an AP Math score of 2 or higher
Attain a CLEP math exam score of 50 or higher
Completion by WSU Placement Exam:
Place into any mathematics (MAT) course that is higher than MAT 1050
Completion by Course
Complete one of the following Wayne State courses with a grade of “C” or higher:
- BA 1200 Personal Finance Planning
- BA 2300 Quantitative Methods I: Probability and Statistical Inference
- FPC 1010 Math for the Arts
- MAE 1000 Detroit by the Numbers
- MAT 1000 Mathematics in Today's World
- MAT 1050 Algebra With Trigonometry
- MAT 1110 Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers I
- MAT 1120 Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers II
- MAT 1500 College Algebra for the Social and Management Sciences
- MAT 1800 Elementary Functions
- MAT 2010 Calculus I
- MAT 2020 Calculus II
- PHI 1070 Reasoning and Decision
- PS 1050 Understanding Political Science Statistics
- STA 1020 Elementary Statistics
- STA 2210 Probability and Statistics
- THR 2651 Introduction to Life Skills for the Creative Entrepreneur
Transfer in a direct equivalent course from another college/university from the list above, or a course that transfers to WSU as “MAT 1XXX” with a grade of “C” or higher
