1 ASK AND ANSWER ABOUT THE TIME (Hỏi và trả lời về giờ)

a. Ask the time ( Hỏi giờ)

b. Answer the time (Đọc giờ) : Kim ngắn chỉ giờ , kim dài chỉ phút.

 Đọc giờ đúng : khi kim dài chỉ số 12

Ex.: (8:00) - It is 8 o’clock

 Đọc giờ quá : khi dài chỉ từ số 1 đến số 6

- It is ten past nine

- It is fifteen past nine

- It is a quarter past nine

- It is thirty past nine

- It is half past nine

 Đọc giờ kém : khi dài chỉ từ số 7 đến số 11

Ex.1: (10: 40) - It is ten forty

- It is twenty to eleven

Ex.2: (10: 45) - It is ten forty-five

- It is fifteen to eleven

- It is a quarter to eleven

c The use (Cách dùng)

- diễn tả hành động sự việc đang xảy ra ở hiện tại ngay khi nói

Ex.1: I am studying English lesson now

Ex.2: He is not doing Math exercises at the moment

Ex.3: Are they playing soccer in the school yard at present.

- diễn tả tình trạng tạm thời của sự việc → dùng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn

diễn tả tình trạng thường xuyên của sự việc → dùng thì hiện tại đơn

Ex.1: That machine isn’t working It broke down this morning

( Cái máy kia đang không hoạt động Nó bị hư sáng nay )

Ex.2: That machine doesn’t work It hasn’t worked for years

( Cái máy kia không hoạt động Nó đã bị hư nhiều năm )

- diễn tả hành động sự việc đã sắp xếp từ trước – dự định sẽ thực hiện → dùng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn

Ex.: What are you doing tomorrow ? (Bạn dự định làm gì ngày mai ?)

I am going to the theater ( Tôi dự định đi xem hát )

3 ASK AND ANSWER ABOUT YOUR FAVORITE THINGS

a. Ask your favorite things ( Hỏi vật ưa thích nhất của bạn)

S + am / is / are + V-ing

S + am / is / are + not + V-ing .

A m / Is / Are + S + V-ing ?

What is + your / his / her favorite subject / food / drink / fruit ?

Which subject / food / drink / fruit + do / does + you / he / she + like best ?

Ex.: What is your favorite food ?

4 COMPOUND ADJECTIVE (Tính từ kép)

- tính từ kép được hình thành gồm :

Ex Our recess lasts for thirty minutes . (Giờ ra chơi của chúng em kéo dài 30 phút)

 We have a thirty - minute recess ( Chúng em có một giờ ra chơi 30 phút)
