Abstract: Limnocharis flava is considered as one of the heavy metal hyperaccumulating plants.It
is wild or planted in the Mekong river delta and serves as a cooking ingredient for goby soup
Seedlings (5 weeks old, 4 - 5 leaves, 10.93 em in height) were planted on soil in which contents of Zn
and Pb were 80 and 240 ppm (respectively) and havested after 40 days Observations at 10, 20, 30, 40

The heights of plants changed from 18.99 em (CT2.2) to 23.92 ern (CfO) The lowest chlorophyll
content was 0.03 mg/cm" (Cf2.2), whereas and the highest one was 0.039 mg/cm" (CTO) Zn and Pb
accumulated in the plant tisues showed a high correlation with the additive amounts, and they tend to
translocate in roots rather than leaves and shoots The highest amounts of Pb and Zn were 415.7 and
8.27 ppm, while the lowest values were 145.46 and 8.27 ppm, respectively
