Inspection class tables for use in the UK
NA.1 General
The inspection class tables given in this Annex for use in the UK should be used instead of the default inspection class tables given in Annex A.
Inspection classes are based on:
• fuel type;
• power (boiler effective rated output)
where “effective rated output” (expressed in kW) is the maximum calorific output specified and guaranteed by the manufacturer as being deliverable during continuous operation while complying with the useful efficiency indicated by the manufacturer.

NA.3 Heating system inspection
Inspection classes are based on building type:
• dwelling with a single boiler of effective rated output 100kW;
• all other dwellings and buildings.
where “effective rated output” (expressed in kW) is as defined in NA.1.
Table NA.5 — User and heating system, identification information for use in 6.3 (to be used instead of Table A.4)

1 As defined in Directive 2002/91/EC (Energy Performance of Buildings Directive) Annex General framework for the calculation of energy performance of buildings section 3.
2 If a heat load calculation is to be carried out as an option in Table NA.12, building characteristics need not be determined here.
Otherwise sufficient information about the building (such as size, age, built form, build quality) should be obtained to allow boiler effective rated output to be compared with likely heat demand. Where boilers are grossly over-sized relative to the heat demand, this should be reported; however, a detailed heat load calculation is not necessary to determine gross over-sizing.
