We use singular verbs with'ing' verb forms that behave as nouns. Such verb forms are also known as gerunds.

r A gerund is the base form of a verb with 'ing' ending. It behaves as a noun.

EXAMPLES: Walking is a good form of exercise.

E We use singular verbs with expressions of distance, money, time, weight, etc, if they refer to a single sum or quantiry.
