A THIEF IN THE BUS
Mr Smith gave his wife ten pounds for her birthday - ten pretty pound notes So the day after her birthday, Mrs Smith went shopping She queued for a bus, got on, and sat down next to an old lady After a while, she noticed that the old lady's handbag was open Inside it, she saw a wad of pound notes exactly like the ones her husband had given her So she quickly looked into her own bag- the notes had gone! Mrs Smith was sure that the old lady, who was sitting next to her, had stolen them She thought she would have to call the police; but, as she disliked making a fuss and getting people into trouble, she decided to take back the money from the old lady's handbag and say nothing more about it She looked round the bus to make sure nobody was watching, then she carefully put her hand into the old lady's bag, took the notes and put them in her own bag
When she got home that evening, she showed her husband the beautiful hat she had bought
"How did you pay for it?" he asked

How can we keep our teeth healthy? First we ought to visit our dentist twice a year He can fill the small holes
in our teeth before they destroy the teeth He can examine our teeth to check that they are growing in the right way Unfortunately, many people wait until they have toothache before they see a dentist Secondly, we should brush our teeth with a toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste at least twice a day, once after breakfast and once before we go to bed We can also use wooden toothpicks to clean between our teeth after a meal Thirdly, we should eat food that is good for our teeth and our body: milk, cheese, fish, bread, potatoes, red rice, raw vegetables and fresh fruit Chocolate, sweets, biscuits, and cakes are bad, especially when we eat them between meals They are harmful because they stick to our teeth and cause decay

Would you like a robot in your house? It is now generally accepted that in the future robots will take over many
of our tasks, especially jobs of repetitive nature But it’s doubtful if robots will ever be able to do any of the more creative types of work or indeed if people want them to In the home robots probably used to do the cleaning, table-laying curbing and washing up, but it’s considered unlike so far that they’ll be used to do the cooking- at least not in a near future Robots in the home might not be creative enough to do the cooking, plan the meals, and so on
They would be used as slaves, thereby freeing people to do more of the things they wanted

Also we make most of our food.- we make butter and cheese, we grow our own vegetables and bake our own bread We never eat frozen and tinned food Everything is fresh – so it must be better for you City people may thing we miss a lot of good things about modern life, but in my opinion they miss a lot than we do- they miss real life

A girl from the Philippine Island thought the food in the United States was too cold – cold mild, cold juice, cold fruit, cold Coca-cola, etc A girl from Brazil thought it was strange that people in the United States eat so early at night In Brazil they usually eat dinner at about 10 o’clock A girl from Sweden was surprised that she could buy many different kinds of food in the restaurants And if you go to the United States we are sure that you will find many other things which are strange and interesting to you, too
