Activities
This section provides procedures for implementing interactive activities to present or review information such as games, simulations, or role-playing exercises
Activity 7.1: Developing a Preliminary Vision Document
! To prepare for the activity
1 Review the course activities
2 Develop a brief outline of a vision document for the Ferguson and Bardell, Inc case study
The activity requires students to review the work that they have completed throughout the course and summarize it in a vision document As students work
on the activity, note any problems that they have with sections of the vision document You can use this information to structure your review of the activity and the overall concepts and skills in the course As you process the activity, focus on the areas in which you observed students having difficulties
Although students developed the business challenge and vision statement earlier in the course, students will need to work quickly to complete the activity Keep students focused on the amount of time that they have to complete the activity Also, you can suggest that they come to a general agreement about what they want to develop; then, while the students summarize their work on flip-chart paper, they can divide the tasks and review them as a group

Module Strategy
Use the following strategy to present this module:
! Summarizing and Presenting the Results The section starts with a review of the envisioning phase of the Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF) Process Model Emphasize to students that they have not completed all of the work in the envisioning phase This
course covers gathering, or research, and analysis In Designing Business
Solutions (1608), students optimize the information developed in this course
to complete the conceptual design work
The vision document is a deliverable for the Vision Approved Milestone at the completion of the envisioning phase Although students have not completed the envisioning phase, they develop a preliminary vision document The activity allows students to produce a final product at the end
of the course so that they have a way to summarize what they have learned
in the course
! Activity 7.1, “Developing a Preliminary Vision Document”
Treat the activity as a final review of the material
Encourage students to be specific when they develop the vision document Emphasize the importance of communicating specific business requirements for the development team They must also take into account the perspective
of stakeholders and users
You can use the processing in conjunction with the Review section to summarize course material and reinforce course content
! Review Although there are questions provided on the “Review Questions” slide, focus on the concepts that you think students had difficulty with and need to review before leaving the course
