I Objectives

By the end of the lesson students will be able to:

- Develop such listening micro-skills and listening for specific and detailed information

- Use the language and knowledge to talk about different kinds of energy

II Language contents:

- Vocabulary: Words related to the lesson.

- Skills: Listening.

- Sub- skills: reading, speaking.

III Teaching aids:

- Textbook, handouts, pictures, chalk, teaching plan, CD, computer.

IV Method: Communicative approach

- T says: Good morning class.

Who is absent today?

- Total students: 40

- Absence: 0

B Checking up

- T will talk about the last lesson: “as you know, at present most of our energy

comes from fossil fuels such as: oil, coal, gas However, they are limited and they will be exhausted within a short time Therefore, we must use alternative sources

of energy”

C New lesson

Work-arrangement Warm up

(5mins) - T gives a game: “Jumbled words”T divides class into 2 groups: A and B

 T gives the 2 handouts of some jumbled words

 T asks Ss to put these letters in the right order to make meaningful words Then, the leader of each group will go to the board and write answers (2 mins)

 T chooses the group which has more correct answers will be winner in the game

1 T asks Ss to list some of things they use energy for

in their home

- T calls Ss to give their answers.

- Before listening, t asks them to read through the statements to understand them , Then ask s Ss to guess their answers

- Play the tape once for Ss to listen and do the task

- Play the tape once more time

- Call Ss to give their answers

- Give the answers in front of the class

Task 2 (10 mins) Ask Ss to read though the passage and guess the missing words
