Lesson1

I Aims : By the end of the lesson ,S will be able to ask and answer the

time

- Teacher’s aids: student’s book, word cards, tape

- Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks

II Procedures :

1 Warm up: Bingo

play with numbers: 4, 10, 15, 13, 20, 25, 35, 40, 45

2 Listen and repeat

- Have S listen to the tape and repeat in chorus

Cooking dancing

- Ask S to proceduce the sound /c/

- Play the recording again for Ps to repeat

- Have S listen to the chant

- Have S practice reading in pairs

- Concept check: Do you like dancing?

Yes, I do

Do you like cooking?

No, I don’t

3 Listen and match:

- Have Ss look at the picture on page 32 and identify the

characters in these pictures

- A skipping B drawing C dancing D.reading

- Ask S to listen and match the actins with Mai , Nam , Hoa or

Mary

- Have Ss to compare to the partner

- Listen again and give the results

4 Read and tick:

- Have Ss read the dialogue on page 33 and tick on the columns

Period 38: UNIT 11: LESSON 2

I Aims : By the end of this lesson, students will be able listen to the time

clearly

- Teacher’s aids: pictures, word cards, tape

- Student’s aids: book, notebook, workbook

II Procedures :

1 Warm up : Chatting

What time is it?

- 8:15

2 Listen and repeat

- Has Ss open the book page 8 look at the words :

Fifteen fifty

_ Produces the sound /i:/ and / i/

- Asks Ss to say what they think about when they hear the

sound

- Plays the recording all the way through for Ss to listen

while they are reading the chant in their books

- Calls on a group of six: three of them to repeat each line

of the chant, other three clap the syllables

- Has Ss practice the chant in groups and clap the syllables

- Monitors the activity and offer help when necessary/

correct typical pronunciation errors

- Calls on a group to recite the chant The others clap the

syllables

- Makes a few questions to check Ss’ comprehension of

language

- Has the whole class recite the chant to reinforce their

pronunciation

- Has Ss circle all the words containing the focused sounds

/i:/ and /i/ in the chant.

3 Listen and tick

- Has Ss look at Pictures 1, 2, 3 and identify the time in

clocks

- Asks Ss to listen to the recording and tick the information

they hear to the right clocks

listening text

- Plays the recording again for Ss to repeat the dialogue

each line in the dialogue to reinforce their

pronunciation
