Grammar in use

1 Look at the picture and the conversation Who are the three people?

Adam That’s my great-grandfather, Alexei He was born in Russia, but after the

Revolution he moved to Sweden

to France He didn’t stay there very long, either

Madelaine Oh, what did he do?

Adam Will, he wanted to go back to Russia, but it was too dangerous So he

decided to come to the USA

Madelaine Is he still alive?

Adam No he died in 1980, when he was 84
