John Logie Baird was born in 1888 in Scotland and educated in Glasgow He earned a living by a razor blade salesman In the 1890s Guglielmo Marconi showed that sound could be sent by radio waves and Baird was convinced by the similar system for transmitting a picture He worked all day and night in his tiny workshop without any support In 1924 , he succeeded in transmitting a figure over more than three meters He continued to experiment and on 25th October 1925 he transmitted the first television picture The first thing on TV was a boy who worked in the office next to Baird’s workroom in London In 1927
