I Aims:

- Helping students practice speaking skill

- To get students to tell what kinds of film they like and dislike

II Objectives: By the end of this lesson, students will have:

1 Knowledge:

- Vocabulary: words related to films and cinema

- Language: +asking and answering questions about the plot of a film based on prompts

+expressing Ss’s opinions about a film, using attitudinal adjectives

2 Skill(s):

Ss can talk about what kinds of film they like and dislike

3 Attitude:

Ss can give their own ideas about films and cinema topic

III Language Focus:

- Grammar: [Sb find St/sb + Adj]; [Adjectives ending with –ing and –ed]

Game: Network game

*Teacher:

- T divides the class into 2 big groups

- T gives sts the name of the game and the rules of it

+T draws 2 networks on the board and the key word is”kinds of films”

+T asks sts to go to the board to write down some words related to”kinds of films” quickly in 1 minute Which group has more correct answers will

be the winner

- T can ask sts some questions like:

Have you seen these kinds of films?

What kind of film do you like best?

Why?

- T leads in:We are learning about films and cinema

*Student:

-Ss work in groups -Ss answer T’s questions

-Ss take notes

*Teacher:

- T ask Ss to study the table on page

134

- Firstly, T gives Ss some suggested structures which can be used in task 1

- T asks Ss to work in pairs to ask and answer questions basing on structures above

-T calls some pairs to do the task

-Ss work in groups and do the task

adjectives that can be used to describe films

-T gives Ss some adjectives that can

be used to describe films

-T introduces the structure Sb find /st/sb + Adj, which can be used to express one’s opinion about something or someone

-T elicits the expressions of agreement and disagreement:

-T invites three Ss to read the model conversation in the textbook T correct Ss’s intonation and pronunciation if necessary

-T divides the class into small groups

of 3 and instructs Ss to find out what the other members of their group feel about the given types of films

-T goes around the class and help Ss if necessary

Task 3 – Find out the preferences for films.

*Teacher:

-T call 2 sts to read aloud the example

on page 135 -T introduces the structure:

Prefer St/Ving + to+St/Ving -T asks Ss to work in pairs and find out about their partner’s preference for particular type of films

-T goes around to observe, offering help and collecting mistakes

-T calls on some Ss to talk about their ideas and asks others Ss to add more

-T gives feedback and correct answers

-T calls some pairs to do the task

*Student:

-Ss work in pairs and present their ideas in front of the class
