Lesson 2 A CLOSER LOOK 1

I./ Objectives

By the end of the lesson, students can:

- Pronounce correctly the sounds /əʊ / and /ʌ /in isolation and in context

- use the lexical items related to the topic “My New School”

- Use the combinations: to have, to do, to study, to play + noun

- Ask appropriate questions when making new friends at a new school

II./ Content.

- Vocabulary: Physics, Lesson, Science, Homework, Exercises, Judo, …

- Structure: The present simple with “to have, to do, to play and to study”

B New lesson

I Warm up

Play a game: “Slap the board” to

remember the words about subjects at

school

T divides class into two groups

- Each group chooses 4 students to take

part in the game

- two teams stand in lines

- T reads word in Vietnamese

- the two first Ss run quickly and slap the

word in English on the board

- The winner is the person slap first

- The loser has to come back his seat
