Ex: I ( be) was sick yesterday.
I ( not be ) was not sick yesterday.
Were ( be) you sick yesterday ? => Yes, I was/ No, I wasn’t.
He ( go) went to see a movie last night.
He ( not go) didn’t go to see a movie last night.
Did he ( go) go to see a movie yesterday ? => Yes, he did / No, he didn’t.
Did you ( go) go to see a movie yesterday ? => Yes, I did / No, I didn’t.
CÁCH CHIA ĐỘNG TỪ Ở QUÁ KHỨ
1 Ta thêm “-ed” vào sau động từ:
- Thông thường ta thêm “ed” vào sau động từ
- Ví du: watch – watched ; turn – turned ; want – wanted
* Chú ý khi thêm đuôi “-ed” vào sau động từ
+ Động từ tận cùng là “e”-> ta chỉ cần thêm “d”
Ví dụ: type – typed ; smile – smiled ; agree – agreed
+ Động từ có MỘT âm tiết, tận cùng là MỘT phụ âm, trước phụ âm là MỘT nguyên âm
-> ta nhân đôi phụ âm cuối rồi thêm “-ed”
Ví dụ: stop – stopped ; shop – shopped ;
+ Động từ tận cùng là “y”:
- Nếu trước “y” là MỘT nguyên âm (a, e, i, o, u) ta thêm “ed”
Ví dụ: play – played ; stay - stayed
- Nếu trước “y” là phụ âm (còn lại ) ta đổi “y” thành “i + ed”
Ví dụ: study – studied ; cry - cried

Cách phát âm đuôi “ed”
* Với các động từ có tận cùng là “t’ và “d”, khi thêm “ed” ta đọc là /id /
Eg: decided, painted…
* Với các động từ có tận cùng là ( p, k, f (~ gh ) , (∫ ) ~ sh , /t∫/ ~ ch , s ) khi thêm “ed” đều đọc là /t /
Eg: talked, thanked…
* Với các trường hợp còn lại, khi thêm “ed” ta đọc là /d /
Eg: played, moved….

+ Động từ bất qui tắc ( cột 2) trong bảng động từ bất qui tắc
